    ZEV electric bikes

update: The damn ZEVs keep on working. I say that because I would love a good excuse to buy a used 2015 Zero S ZF13. After 7 to 8 yrs, the main issue with these 6100W and 7100W bikes is the cable connections to the batteries. The 2010 S6100 I sold after getting the 2011 T7100, recently had a 1...

    Suggestions for 100A, 15 to 20AH pack

Wesnewell, Thanks for the suggestion, but I don’t feel comfortable recommending standard hobby king RC packs for the final user of this system. I’ve heard too many stories of a cell in the middle of one of those pack failing and puffing. He doesn’t have the skills or tools to fully and...

    Suggestions for 100A, 15 to 20AH pack

Amberwolf, great suggestion! I like the cell stacking and ease of bussing. Now what BMS would someone suggest for 21 or 22 cell pack? Prefer a centralized BMS where if a balance lead breaks, a fault is generated.

    Suggestions for 100A, 15 to 20AH pack

Forgot to mention pack voltage: 87.6V currently but anything +/- 5% should do as charger is completely adjustable Thanks

    Suggestions for 100A, 15 to 20AH pack

What would you suggest for a small but safe battery pack that comfortably delivers 100A and has a capacity of 15 to 20AH. Since it will have to be charged at work, outside near building, it needs to be fairly safe. Both DIY and purchased packs are being considered. TIA

Supplimentary batteries for a ZEV scooter

Supplimentary batteries for a ZEV scooter

I used to own this bike. These are GBS 40AH cells so the existing BMS will still work with 60AH cells. The problem is 60AH cells won’t fit in the battery box area. A second 40AH set of GBS cells won’t fit on the bike. If you deeply discharge the pack, the pack tends to become unbalanced as...

    Simple 4s lifepo4 12v block management

Keep the charging current less than 1/3C. I had 60AH cells and wanted to charge them using level 2 chargers (30-32A), but distributors tech support said no more than 1/3C (or 20A in my case).

    Thermal Image Camera?

silviasol, what the camera shows is the difference in temps between the hollow areas of drywall and the drywall over the studs. as long as the stud is a different temp than the drywall, it will heat/cool the small area of drywall over it. great for checking how the wall was built, which way...

    Thermal Image Camera?

I bought the Seek thermal imaging camera for my iphone. It does show studs in walls if there is enough difference between the room temp and the temp of whats behind the wall; I didn't expect this and at first wondered what the pattern of lines were as I was checking quality of insulation job...

    ZEV electric bikes

GY6 - yes, from what I can tell my bikes used many standard GY6 parts for rims, brakes, switches, etc. But except for replacing brake pads, throttles, and tires, I haven't used any other replacement parts in five to six years so I'm not 100% sure what is truly GY6. I bought the ZEVs because...

    ZEV electric bikes

I've owned both a ZEV S6100 and ZEV T7100. Solid machines and drive trains. Very stiff shocks, I guess to support the excessive loads some users put on them. Zero drive train issues over five yrs of use. Distributed BMS system is used vs central BMS system. Overtime the BMS doesn't fully...
