Sunra 3kW Motor and Sabvoton Controller

I moved my hall sensors in see photo. I connected them back to the pcb using thin wire. No issues with water ingress. Small layer of gasket sealant between the cover and the motor.

    Sabvoton Blown

Two thirds of the fets short circuit, no visible damage to any minor components. So hopefully only fet damage. Smell of burnt electrical components :bolt:

    Sabvoton Blown

Thanks guys, I dare not strip it down 😂

    Sabvoton Blown

My motor spindle span and ripped the motor feed wires and shorted them. My controller now has a short across the positive and negative terminals. Any thoughts what might have blown inside before I strip it down? Any schematics available? I ave the 120v 80A version.

    Sabvoton 96080 Erpm?

Does anyone know what the max erpm of this controller is and how to attain it?

Sabvoton SVMC072150 controller review, variable regen *PICS*

Anyone know what the erpm is of the classic type 96080 controller?

    Setup Sabvoton Pole Pairs

Connected the high speed input to 0V. Boom 40mph on 96V.

    Setup Sabvoton Pole Pairs

Motor is 3kw, stock volts is 72v. New controller capable of 96v so will add some more batteries, see where that takes me. Controller capable of 80a continuous but cables not beefy enough to sustain that so will limit to 80a. I am used to 3 phase variable speed drives on ac induction motors...

Sabvoton SVMC072150 controller review, variable regen *PICS*

Was down to hall sensor location. Sabvoton does not like 60deg halls!

    Setup Sabvoton Pole Pairs

The controller was software restricted to 28mph, for the UK moped laws. I assumed this controller would output a faster frequency sine wave. I will try adding more batteries, see if 96v makes a difference. More concerned that throttle appears to be on or off, even though the status field varies...

    Setup Sabvoton Pole Pairs

Motor is now running but doesn’t seem very fast considering the previous controller was restricted!

Sunra 3kW Motor and Sabvoton Controller

Got it working by moving the hall sensors. Though now seems to max out at 300rpm, which is only 25km/h

    Setup Sabvoton Pole Pairs

I’ve had to open my hub to replace the halls and took the opportunity to count the poles for setting up my sabvoton. I have 52 magnets, 60 poles with windings around them. What number do I put in to the pn field? Thanks

I believe it could be down to the hall sensor type, unipolar vs bipolar. I’m going to fit some additional unipolars see if that makes a difference

Possible to make a trapezodial motor run on sinusodial cont?

I read somewhere that SS411A will not work as they are bi-polar and that you should use SS441A as they are unipolar. Anyone used SS443A successfully?
