Hi all,
I recently replaced my old Active line motor (was low on torque and bearings were going bad) with a brand new performance line one(non cx). The Active line one had top speed of 45km/h and the new one has top speed of 25km/h. The Active one had headlight control enabled and the...
Two years later the bike is still working and still acting up occasionally:
It is 2500km now and it's still running and is in pristine condition-bike parts are great and rides great downhill, battery is still 100% healthy and has great range, motor is mechanically looking great-no broken...
Update: I just measured both seonsors and it seems that the Hall(cadance) sensor is acting up. It reads 3.3v over COM at rest and 0v when metal is nearby, but randomly reverses reading and shows 0v at rest and 3.3v when metal is nearby.I don't think this is normal. It has 3 pins :Signal, COM...
Hi,
Sorry for highjacking the topic. First-thank you for it. It is a great resource for people with problematic motors, that want to salvage their systems. I found this topic while researching what kind of controller should I buy for my problematic freewheel Impulse EVO RS system on a Focus...
It seems that's the inevitable fate of all Impulse motors. Mine Evo one doesn't have stripped cogs yet. The paws seem worn a bit. The bike is still working but cutting off. I suppose due to faulty cadance sensor. I left it to my gf as she puts a lot less torque to its cranks(55kg) and it behaves...
Today I noticed that the cadance reading shows 0 on the display, and just somtimes (5% of the time I am pedaling) jumps to 60-90 and then drops back to 0. That is definately not normal. Interesting is that assistance is still working while 0 and cut offs don't seem directly related to the...
Hi my ebike is out of warranty now and started doing some crazy stuff. It sometimes loses power and sometimes stops supporting at all. The problem goes away after restarting the system . I got once the following Message on the screen: "Hint 1/1: Wait for Drive". It feels as if the torque sensor...
The battery pack of my Chinese Cree light was absolutely the same knock-off - it had 2 unconnected dead cells packed there, so the Mah rating of the pack looks more plausible. Dead weight.
This replacement service... does it work for Impulse Evo RS motors out of warranty? Mine just started acting crazy and it is only 2300km right after the warranty ended :(
Thanks for the reply. That's what I am scared of - that I might burn something with the higher draw. I'll probably won't risk it and will use my all in one Lezyne light.
@wesnewell - that is probably the easiest way, indeed, however:
A) I cannot just plug them into the system, because there are no available 36V free sockets and I don't want to void my warranty by tampering the wires. The battery charge plug does not output 36v- it is disabled by the BMS when...
Hi,
I have a stock ebike with an Impulse Evo RS stock mounted system which works on 36V, but has two light connectors ( front and rear each outputting 6v) which seems to be enabled by default, even though the bike came brand new without lights. As I have a Chinese 3xCree headlight ~1000 lumens...
