Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Greetings, I'm really enjoying this firmware with my VLCD6 display. Particularly great is sensitivity to sub-revolution pedal strokes, at least when coasting or accelerating from stopped. One challenge I find is when coming to a stop, the torque sensitivity is still higher than I like even when...

Battery size variance for given AH rating

I recently purchased a battery from dhgate that was advertised as 48v and 15 amp hour bottle battery (full specs below). Upon delivery I was quite surprised to find that it was half the length of another bottle battery I have on hand, rated 48v and 14.5 amp hours. I know little about batteries...

    Lock-ring to fit tsdz2

I tried the bafang lock ring, but it was too small. Are there other options out there? A double setup like the bafang seems ideal, as the single backs out even after threadlocker and heavy torque on the nut.

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Would anyone have have advice on how to tune the soft start parameters? It is far too soft for navigating in traffic. I want rapid acceleration. I'm an avid cyclist and prefer to modulate torque with my feet rather than software, and am willing to risk damaging the nylon gear.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Okay, I tried tightening the 5 bolts closest to the drive-side crank that hold the spider to the main drive gear. I gave them 5nm, didn't want to give more for fear of stripping. The spider was still loose. I then removed the main drive gear and noticed that I lack the brass spacers behind the...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I'd be curious about your input on lateral play of the chain ring spider on the axel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7ueCrxFKOU You can feel the chainline changing under torque. Is this something worth repairing?

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I'm interested in marcoq's firmware for VLCD6. I've installed both JRE and SDCC compiler, but am unable to flash the firmware within the configurator (I am in an OSX environment). I can install his firmware with stm8flash, however the stock eeprom settings are for the 36v, and I have a 48v...

stm8 code for flashing tsdz2 firmware

    Tried the following: echo "00 00 ff 20 df 00 ff 00 ff 00 ff 00 ff 00 ff" | xxd -r -p > option_bytes_pwm_n_channels_enabled.bin stm8flash -c stlinkv2 -p stm8s105?6 -s opt -w option_bytes_pwm_n_channels_enabled.bin stm8flash -c stlinkv2 -p stm8s105?6 -w 48vprogrammemory.hex stm8flash -c stlinkv2...

stm8 code for flashing tsdz2 firmware

eco-ebike.com now offers some customized firmware for the TSDZ2 that I'd like to try: https://www.eco-ebike.com/blogs/eco-cycles-instructionals/tsdz2programmingfromscratch They offer instructions on how to flash with the st-link software, but I don't have a windows machine. My plan was to try...

    Play in TSDZ2 Spider

I've noticed a few mm of play in the spider of my Tongsheng motor: https://youtu.be/I7ueCrxFKOU I've removed the five bolts, applied blue loctite, and reassembled with torque at 5nm, but the play persists. Is this normal? I noticed a large bearing inboard of the spider that protrudes from the...

Possible to power di2 with avg ebike battery?

I'm thinking about getting a shimano di2 alfine hub for my commuter, which is set up with a TSDZ2 motor and 48v bottle battery. Has anyone tried to power di2 systems with an ebike battery and can point me to some resources on how to set it up?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

If you'd like the VLCD6 to display mph, simply take the circumference values listed in the manual and multiply them by 0.62. If you want to set the speed limit to 45km/h hold down the power and + button for 10 seconds.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Interesting, thanks! I've had luck adjusting the speed limit and circumference on the VLCD6, but not the power. I fear that I'm not getting the most out of my motor. Does anyone have any tips for adjusting power on that display?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Would you be willing to elaborate on the performance characteristics of VLCD-5 vs. VLCD-6? I chose the latter because I was looking for a low key display, but am wondering what performance downsides it might exhibit.
