    Bafang 750w too powerful?

Make sure you backup your original settings as well, just in case you need to return it to standard for any reason. ;)

Bafang BBSxx, replacement of bearings in bottom bracket

It may be worth making sure the nut that holds the unit into the bottom bracket shell is properly tight and that your crank arm bolts are properly tight also. Either of those being loose will cause clicking like you described. It would be unusual for the axle/bearings to be giving you trouble...

Bafang BBSxx, replacement of bearings in bottom bracket

If you have a bbs01 or 02 then that should be fine, the HD i'm not sure if its the same. Another thing to consider is that because the needle roller bearing runs straight onto the axle then its best to replace that as well. I recently rebuilt my 02B and replaced both roller bearings, the thrust...

    BBSHD or Cyclone 3kW?

Would you consider carrying you battery in a backpack? It really opens up your options for battery choices. I have a really nice hiking daypack with excellent padding and straps and its really no bother carrying my 14s5p GA pack. Also worth noting that the bike will feel more nimble in extreme...

Your Creation's Before & After Pics

I agree that the backpack battery is better for off road. I have tried it both ways with my BBS02 on my hard tail and it definitely feels more like a motorcycle with that extra weight on the frame, although its much more convenient for the day to day use.

Thanks for the kind words. I know its cheating but unfortunately its not an easy frame to mount a battery to. I would if I could though. :D

Well I decided to remove that fugly display and jumble of wires from my Haro/BBSHD combo, also got some new bars and a new direct mount stem to complete the new clean look. :D

New BBSHD, unusual markings, resistance when turning cranks.

Just to update this thread, I had my drive unit swapped out by the vendor and the new one has been working as expected for the last couple of months. No uneven resistance when turning the cranks by hand but there is still a mm or so of end float on the pedal axle. I keep meaning to shim it out...

    Belted Rohloff Bafang build

Don't forget if you lower the forks too much you will loose travel and may bottom the forks out under heavy braking. It would probably be better to fit a more suitable fork for the frame. I run 120mm fox 32's on my hardtail and they are a very good match in terms of both performance and...

Your Creation's Before & After Pics

Sorry I don't have a before pic but here is my latest build based on a Haro Extreme X7 I have owned for years. I have fitted a BBSHD and carry a 52v 17.5ah battery in my bag. :)

    BBS02 just died, any pointers?

Were you pushing the motor a lot before it gave up, like wide open throttle in a hard gear? I had a bbs02 controller give up in the same manor after a short sharp hill climb and it didn't feel particularly hot on the outside. It just shut off earlier than expected when I was stationary and never...

    Bafang BBSO1B to ICE Q

Why don't you put the speed sensor on the back wheel? Edit: Forget that, I just googled ice q. :D

New BBSHD, unusual markings, resistance when turning cranks.

I use a small 20l hiking daypack for my battery as it allows me to carry other things besides my battery when its expanded but also ties up into a more compact form when I don't need the extra capacity. It has very well padded shoulder straps as well as chest and waist bands, plus it has a fancy...

New BBSHD, unusual markings, resistance when turning cranks.

Hi, thanks for the reply. :) I think I am going to have to return my HD then because as I suspected the issue I have is not normal. I have spoken the seller via email now and I am waiting to see what he wants me to do. I would take a guess that the nylon gear is not properly formed but I'm not...
