The battery and my heat problem

Thanks for all the help. I was using 16gauge wire. So now I will switch to 12. Could the wire size be causing the controller to heat up as well?

The battery and my heat problem

I have a volt meter. Not sure if it has a watt option. Maybe these pics will help clarify.

The battery and my heat problem

I have a 48V 15Ah sunthing battery. The motor and controller came from EM3EV. The problem I am having is the heat. The controller gets so hot that I can't touch it. I just burned through my second plug on the battery. What is causing this problem? I think the motor size fits the battery...

Replacing a battery plug with Anderson power poles

So if the voltmeter reads +53.2 volts then I know that the red pointer on the voltmeter is on the Live wire of the battery and the black pointer is on the battery's neutral. However if the Volts on the meter read negative, then I know I have it reversed. Is that right?

Replacing a battery plug with Anderson power poles

Thank you for that confirmation. One last request, in the picture the Red wire is the Live wire and the Blue wire is the Neutral. Am I correct?

Replacing a battery plug with Anderson power poles

I have this battery in the picture and I'm having some issues with the male prongs on the battery plug. The plugs won't fit into the female plug, there seems to be some metal chards on the male preventing insertion. Anyway I'm going to have to change this plug, but I was wondering if I could...

Is there a switch to be used for...

I did a little research on connecting the three batteries in parallel. I'm going to use method 3 found in the following link: http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/batt_con.html I want to verify if this is correct before I do it. I also read some warnings about connecting in parallel batteries of...

Is there a switch to be used for...

So I have those sunthing batteries that have the black three prong female chord coming out of battery. Can I hook the batteries up in parallel without cutting that chord? Can somebody walk me through it?

Is there a switch to be used for...

So I've got 3 15ah batteries that I'm pulling in a small trailer now. I've got a CA to gauge how much juice i've used and how much remains. What I'm trying to figure out is how I can run three separate red and black wires from each of the batteries to my handle bars so I can switch between...

Idiot user learns rule #1 on charging batteries

Today I was in Starbucks reading while my 48V 15Ah battery was charging. I have a nice canvas bag that the battery fits in nicely along with the charger. I wedged the charger into the bag vertically so that the top of the charger was at the end of the battery near where wires are. (I realize I...

Using my 48V 15ah battery to run a CPAP machine

I have a CPAP for sleep apnia and want to use my 48V 15ah battery to run it. I think I need an inverter. What should I be looking for on the CPAP to tell me which inverter to get? And how long will my battery run the machine from full charge? The markings on the CPAP transformer that plugs...

    Sunthing battery 48V 15Ah

Today I went on a long ride. I put a trailer on the bike and put some gear in the trailer. I wanted to ride until the battery turned off. I got 24 miles, the last 5 miles were wide open throttle. The battery turned off at 14.69 Ah and 690 Whrs. So I guess I didn' quite get that 700 Whrs out...
