    controller mounting/cable mess

#1 - Go to local Home Depot and Get some 10AWG even for 1-2 foot run, eliminate resistance and voltage sag. #2 - Do you use all the connections on the controller, I never use eBrake cutouts and only use Power, Phase, Hall and Throttle so I open the controller and desolder the un-needed wires...

Please help me figure out these lithium pouches

I'm with Hwy, those are lower end and capacity pouches for sure but identifying them is next to impossible. I've revived packs which went below 2v but they never return to above 92-93% capacity and the voltage drop under load says to me that they are either very low C rate (2-3) and of low...

    Charger?

Look on the PCB for a 16 Pin DIP TL494 IC Chip, if it has one it can be adjusted by changing the feedback bias resistor network. A resistor on the output would not drop the voltage and at any real current levels DIODES are not going to do anything but BURN UP. Take some Macro photos of the PCB...

    Charger?

What type of charger, post some pics and if possible take the cover off to see if its one with variable resistors for setting voltage and current limits. Also what is the makeup of your pack? Nominal voltage and chemistry?

    Wheelchair with Handcycle

May I suggest you order a CC/CV charger (the aluminum kind) from any vendor (BMSBattery) or obtain a Meanwell S-150-48 to S-350-48 power supply which operate in CC/CV (may require mods of two resistors, adding a single diode in series with an existing on on the PCB and perhaps a pot) and no...

    Wheelchair with Handcycle

I'm assuming your pack is LiFePo4. What do you mean by it "overcharges"? If you mean it runs longer than it should that could be because it is attempting to balance them at the top end of the charge so the charger would need to keep pumping low current out so the BMS (guaranteed to be a...

116 Controller 6 FET Input Regulator Mod

TOPIC RESURRECTION I just wanted to thank all the contributors to this topic, special thanks to 12p3phPMDC and Jeremy Harris! To finish two versions of a master controller for optically isolating and controlling up to 4x CellLog8 (of any type) I needed an efficient, low cost, low parts count...

    CellLog 8 hacking

Thanks that will work, just wanted to see the part in use before selecting it for a 100v-8.4v power source step down to run my MCU side of things I have a step down now but it tops out around 60v. William

    Windows will not detect VESC.

You need to right click on windows device manager, delete / remove and when asked to "delete files?" check the box. Download proper drivers from VESC website and install them before plugging in the VESC.

    Reverse PPM

Only if the controller / ESC supports remapping throttle end points. Then you just calibrate things properly for full reverse and full forward. -William ps: you could remap this with a simple teensy arduino type prototype board.

Can I overvoltage this controller ?

You may be able to but it isnt' a controller I recognize and normally BLUE caps aren't even 63v rated. I can't see the FET type / model nor can I make out the voltage limits of the caps, what are they marked as (Both the FETs and the CAPs)? -William

    CellLog 8 hacking

Quick question if anyone is reading this thread anymore and I'm not 100% wasting my time posting to it.... Does anyone have experience with http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lm5008.pdf step down converter regulator IC, claim is good to 95v and I am looking for a more robust manor to power the...

    CellLog 8 hacking

Someone asked me via PM if I could provide the full schematic for isolating 3 x CellLog8 units and while I got lazy with Part Designators this Schematic PDF should explain not only how to isolate the CellLog8 units (3 of them, 4 is possible but requires use of base "Serial" or Uart0 of the 2560...

    CellLog 8 hacking

The following is a circuit to opto isolate multiple CellLog8 units along with the images of how to break out the VCC, GND and TXD from each CellLog8 and yes you could easily use a PC with 2 USB->TTL Serial Adapters in place of the MCU. A simple PC application could be written to monitor...
