    Another GasGas trials bike conversion

I like the fleet of OSET's! My boys are 4 and 6 so I don't think just one is going to cut it here either!

another pit bike conversion qsmotor 2000w

Did you do your rpm calculations with a 10" diameter? I believe that's just the rim size, I used an overall tire diameter of 15" and came up with 56 mph at 3500 motor rpm. Also, with that big of a motor, there won't be much room left for batteries in such a small frame. I don't want to...

    Another GasGas trials bike conversion

I just picked up an OSET 20R myself; it's an amazingly fun little bike!! Did you consider an OSET 24 at all? I'd like to find one but no used ones even remotely close to me and new is pretty expensive. Best of luck with your conversion!

Friendly reminder. Winter (@northern hemisphere) is kickin' in.

Is it really that bad? Thousands of power tools are used and stored in unheated areas all winter. I have a dmm that lives in my car year round and it's still working. Where I work, we have to leave our phones in the vehicle so after a 12 hour night shift at -20 my phone isn't too happy but...

How to remotely control pump engine?

I've never heard of this, please elaborate. The farm is a business.

How to remotely control pump engine?

I figured if RC stuff can fly things worth several thousand, it must be pretty reliable!! The "safe mode" is exactly what I need, provided I can dictate what safe mode entails for the system. It's for pumping manure, so it's actually a legal requirement that the system shut down if...

How to remotely control pump engine?

It runs about 10 hours a day, 6 days a year, so definitely not 24/7. What is the purpose of the pwm triggered switches, can the receivers not provide simple outputs? Relays and actuators I have no problem with. I'm not at the "how" stage yet, more "can it work"!!

How to remotely control pump engine?

I'm looking for an inexpensive reliable way to remotely control a pump engine. It already has it's own manual controller so I just need to interface with it. I'm thinking a radio link with several inputs and outputs, like this...

CBA II problem: stops test part way?

The two tests I did at home here worked fine, so it must be my work laptop causing problems. It was plugged in and I know it didn't hibernate or sleep, so it might be a problem with the USB port or the software. I think I'll just bring the batteries home and test them here; it's not worth time...

CBA II problem: stops test part way?

This is the first I've seen this problem, although it has probably been 2 years since I last used it. I used to use it on an old laptop with no problems. The first test at work (also on a laptop) worked ok, but that was it. I will give it a try at home on the original computer I used in the...

CBA II problem: stops test part way?

Has anyone had this problem before? Testing a few batteries at work has revealed this problem. The CBA stops testing only 1 or 2 Ah into the test, the Ah display shows "NaN", the current display is 0 or NaN, the voltage display is the actual voltage and the fan and both LED's are still on...

Removing ripple from DC current measurment??

Thanks again Luke, I used a 100 ohm resistor and grabbed a decent size cap from my assortment (2200 uF, 35V) and it seems to have worked great. The current graph is now very smooth and the data is actually usable now.

Removing ripple from DC current measurment??

Thanks Luke, I'll give that a try today. We're not too concerned with measuring spikes or transients, it's mainly to get an idea of the power consumption and see how it compares to our solar input.

Removing ripple from DC current measurment??

I'm working on an off-grid solar system for work that is going to power some measurement equipment. It consists of 6 240W solar panels, a 60 amp Morningstar MPPT charge controller, an Outback 2.5 kW inverter and a 24 volt, 1820 Ah battery. To keep tabs on the system, we have installed a...

Alternators and gas powered charging systems

I assume you are using the CRF50 engine because you already have it? A few hundred watts won't be working it very hard lowering your efficiency. I would try to avoid going through the chain for efficiency and noise reasons. For the amount of power you are looking for, I would be tempted to...
