How do i solder this tab?

You're not going to be soldering onto a lithium cell, but you still need to solder it quite quickly. If you haven't soldered before, I'd take it to someone who has experience. The first thing I'd be worried about is what else got damaged when the pack was dropped. I'd check that the metal tab...

TSDZ2 firmware flashing issues (and when to give up!)

It seems there are different versions of STLINK copies, with different pinouts. How confusing. https://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=139902 I'm no expert, but worst case you could change the controller. But if you open up the motor and look at the controller, perhaps you'll find a...

TSDZ2 firmware flashing issues (and when to give up!)

My STLINK pinout is different, SWIM and GND are the other way round. With the STLINK unconnected, check the resistance between the outside of the USB plug and SWIM, mine is around 88K ohms. And obviously to the GND pins it’s almost zero.

TSDZ2 firmware flashing issues (and when to give up!)

It's very very unlikely that you've 'bricked' or damaged the controller, so don't dismantle the original motor for spares quite yet. When I program mine, I have the TSDZ2 battery disconnected, I'm letting the STLINK-V2 5v and GND provide the power. Is that what you're doing? Perhaps it would...

"New" TSDZ2 with "old" controller ?

The XMC1302 microcontroller has functional blocks specialised for motor control, so there will be much less for the firmware to do. But I'm very happy with the 'old' STM8S controller, it's amazing what the clever OSF people have done in software!

"New" TSDZ2 with "old" controller ?

I read it somewhere, recently, but I'm not sure where. I'll keep looking, but perhaps I got it wrong. Update: Ok, looks like I made a false assumption, it's an ARM core with SWD interface, but it's an Infineon XMC1302 (not STM32). I guess you knew that already Elinx

"New" TSDZ2 with "old" controller ?

I believe the new controller is based on STM32 which uses a JTAG/SWM interface. Different pins, and I’m not sure if they’re in the speed sensor cable or whether you’d need to open up the TSDZ2 to get to them. And it’ll need a JTAG/SWD dongle and totally different software, of course. So when I...

    TSDZ2 OSF for all displays, VLCD5-VLCD6-XH18, LCD3, 860C-850C-SW102.

Thanks to Elinx for the answers below, and to mbrusa and everyone involved... I'm now having fun experimenting with the different modes in V20.1.C1 :) Two more questions: 1) Is there any feedback on VLCD5 so I can see which settings I've changed (e.g. which mode)? Or do I just have to keep...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Thanks. I've installed emmebrusa 1-20.1C-2.1 which is great with a 10S pack, I'm going to try 6S 7S and 8S. I've read the EN manual but don't understand how to set parameters on the display. I can get to E02/3/4 flashing but then don't know how to change the values - is there a button which...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi, firstly thanks to all the developers and contributors to the TSDZ2 OSF, much appreciated! I've just fitted a 36V TSDZ2 with a VLCD5, and bought a Malectrics Arduino spot welder to make my own packs from new cells. Now I'm trying to consider ALL the possibilities, and I read that the lowest...
