You might only be able to buy the stickiest rubber in certain sizes. So, while one tire\wheel size might have a huge contact patch it might only be available in non-sticky compounds...
Ok good, that would've been my next suggestion, LoL.
Not sure what to suggest on your original question. I just charged in bulk @ 72v and checked the packs often....
Quick question, are you sure the BMSs on your packs actually do balancing?
I built a pack as you described using hoverboard 36v packs. The BMSs on those packs were only for protection, they didn't balance. So I had to periodically check every pack and balance it if needed...
The app I linked used to show all the individual cells, but its been updating its versions very often lately and seemingly reducing functions with each update. I stopped allowing it to update, so my version is older. So I guess that app is useless now unless you can find an old APK...

Do the cracks look like this? If so, I think my motor has always looked like this inside. I feel like it's from the manufacturing process, but I don't really know. But I do know that it hasn't gotten worse over the years & I will regularly push 6kw thru this 1500w motor...
If you don't go with the Zero motor, you could look into Lightning Rods offerings. They have some powerful ipm motors & controller options.
