    DaVinci drive.....

Can everyone else see the pictures? I am unable to view several pictures in a lot of the threads. I just get a message that says "the selected attachment does not exist anymore." Any help is much appreciated.

Drive Mounts and Irregular Tubing Shapes

Along the lines of bondo, there is another body filler that is typically used for filling larger areas that has a high content of fiberglass in it. It is called Long and Strong. Works very similar to bondo, however will hold up alot better in a compression situation. I would probably smear it...

Chain drive using existing crank set / derailler

Hi, the freewheel is in the crankset on that bike in the picture, so the pedals do not spin while the motor is running. If you look closely, you can see the freewheel spider in the center of the crank arms. --Ryan

    Twin Freewheel Hub

I was thinking that I would use 7075 aluminum, just for the strength on the threads, although I am not sure that it would need it. I would probably use a manual lathe to create it, since I have access to one at my dads house. Thanks for the input! --Ryan

Ideal form of speed reduction for powered bicycles?

Sounds like a great idea! As far as anyone else using a hub for a jackshaft, check out this link to Matt's recumbent build...he used one. http://www.wisil.recumbents.com/wisil/shumaker/default.htm Good luck with the build...looking forward to some sweet pics. --Ryan

    Twin Freewheel Hub

Grandmaster, I thought about the same thing, however my thought process is that in acceleration most of the weight is on the rear wheel, while in braking most of the weight is shifted to the front wheel. When braking with the rear wheel, it will tend to lose traction before you see a great...

    Twin Freewheel Hub

So here it is with the bearings and spacers...bearings are in blue. I think this should make for a fairly stout setup. --Ryan

    Twin Freewheel Hub

Hey guys, thanks for all of your input! Definitely helps with the design process.

    Twin Freewheel Hub

Yeah, both freewheels on the same side, so I can still use the disc brake on the left side. --Ryan

    Twin Freewheel Hub

So this probably doesn't warrant its own thread, but I thought I would share my plans for machining a 135mm rear hub that will accommodate two freewheels. It will have three bearings in it...one on the disc side, and two on the drive side. The picture is just of the hub with no bearings or...

What one-off bike should I build to sell?

I have a thought for a rear hub that could be machined. It would be the standard 135mm width, with a disk mount on the left side, but with enough threads on the drive side to accomidate two freewheels. I would then use the inner freewheel as the e-drive, with a big sprocket on it (44-46T), and...

Twin motored PK Ripper--A little over the top!

Asside from the obvious cooling issues associated with a boat ESC, does anyone know much about these: http://www.castlecreations.com/products/hydra_hv_line.html -Ryan

    mud's RC motor bmx build

I like what you've done here...very simple, with good quality. In response to your previous post, I used to work at a bicycle shop, and know for a fact that you can get very small tooth count, and silent freewheels. That may solve your problem of noise, and not really being able to pedal at...
