    Hi, the freewheel is in the crankset on that bike in the picture, so the pedals do not spin while the motor is running. If you look closely, you can see the freewheel spider in the center of the crank arms. --Ryan

    I was thinking that I would use 7075 aluminum, just for the strength on the threads, although I am not sure that it would need it. I would probably use a manual lathe to create it, since I have access to one at my dads house. Thanks for the input! --Ryan
