Uses for a Bionx battery pack with a dead BMS

I acquired one in a similar manner. The extra wires are for temperature sensors, according to Bionx. I wasn't savvy enough to repair it, so I completely disassembled it and rebuilt it with a regular BMS. I've been using it daily for six months now and it's been a great battery. The cells in mine...

    Single-Speed Momentary Pushbutton Throttle?

I wanted exactly this thing, so I got one of these buttons http://motone.com/dual-button-microswitch-7-8-metric-handlebar-black/ and hooked it up to an arduino with this sketch https://github.com/webmasterkai/throttle-button. Can be disengaged by either holding the button or pulling the brake lever.

Normal no-load power consumption for this mystery motor

3 amps is the best that I can get. Changing phase angle didn't result in any good combinations. However, after doing a bit more research, I think these might be 6T Mac motors. They look identical and the format of the serial number is the same as the one in the photo at...

Normal no-load power consumption for this mystery motor

I wanted to eliminate any room for an error in logic, which is usually where I fail, so it didn't seem terribly time consuming to just try all of them. The 60°/120° phase angle is set to auto select, so that's a great tip. I'll look into that and verify the measurement. Thanks!

Normal no-load power consumption for this mystery motor

Switching blue and yellow on both hall and phase yielded 3.9, while switching yellow and green was a close second at ~4.5. Several other combinations were clunkier and drawing more amps, and several more sounded like they were the backwards combinations. Any thoughts on what I could be failing...

Normal no-load power consumption for this mystery motor

I bought a couple of mystery motors on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/151913003555?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT because mysteries are fun. I've been trying to figure out the correct hall/phase combination with a Lyen 123770ST controller. After trying all...

Problem with GBK 36v bottle battery

Thanks for the great tips. It ended up being a bad connection between cells, which I was able to repair relatively easily. Great learning experience, and now I have an extra BMS.

Problem with GBK 36v bottle battery

Thanks for the help. I tried unplugging and replugging the connector. No luck. One thing that I discovered is that when there isn't a load, the voltage is only slightly lower than normal. The attached photos document this. I connected an LED light and the voltage dropped to around 5v both...

Problem with GBK 36v bottle battery

More details: I've been internet learning a bunch about batteries, and it seems that 10 wires to the bms gizmo would be most common, but there are 11. The voltage starts at 0 for the first wire and increments by ~4 for each for a total of 39.7v on the final pin...so obviously the battery is not...

Problem with GBK 36v bottle battery

About 6 weeks ago I purchased this kit --> http://www.greenbikekit.com/electric-bike-kit-1/front/36v-250w-gbk-100f-front-driving-e-bike-kit-with-samsung-bottle-battery.html It's been on my bike, functioning mostly as expected for the past 4 weeks. The only oddity out of the box was that the...
