but are you using the same battery? also in the controller there`s a white multi-plug that in my HD was not properly pushed home, gave the same problem as yours, but check with a different battery if poss.

Yes Sean this is something where there is a massive market, much more than mountain-biking, i`m surprised Frey haven`t developed the AM1000 frame for a road `comfort bike` as you suggest. Probably the frame would remain the same with the option of different wheels/tyres, handlebars, fenders...

In a word NO!! Why don`t they say what cells are they using, is it because they`re of the cheap chinese variety? This is the most important thing. Make sure they`re Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo etc, not copies. As you`re also in the UK you`d be better asking the question in www.pedelecs.co.uk...

Yes, i agree, there is a massive market out there for a hardtail or Hybrid ebike with these specifications. MTB is only a small market in comparison.
