New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I'm confused on the workflow of flashing custom firmware to the controller. Following this guide, I'm able to connect to the microcontroller and backed up the stock firmware. The attached readme from emmebrusa's firmware tells me to use the configurator to flash the new firmware. I changed...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I have a TSDZ2 I bought used and I'm trying to make sure it works before I buy a battery. I've got it sitting on my desk hooked up to a 52V source capable of sourcing 6A and I'm reading its current. When I first plugged it in I read a current of about 30mA, but that dropped to <5mA (read 0A on...

Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Quick question: I bought a used 48V TSDZ2 and I want to test it out before I go shell out for a several-hundred-dollar battery. What's the easiest way I could verify the motor windings are ok?

Figuring out if my TSDZ2B is 500W or 750W

Interesting, thanks; so I should be able to replace the firmware with something like this and be able to use it at 750W no matter what it was initially sold at? If you're saying the rated voltage and max RPM alone specify the motor's performance, I disagree.

Figuring out if my TSDZ2B is 500W or 750W

I bought a TSDZ2B from eBay from a guy who bought it an auction and didn't know what its power rating is. The sticker on the motor specifies it as a "MIDDLE MOTOR TSDZ2B DC48V 4000RPM M12C40C5C00559" I assume the latter string is a serial number. Does anyone know if there are any differences...

    Looking for 48V battery, >750W, >7.5Ah, fire-safe

I'm putting together a bike based on the TSDZ2 and need a battery to go along with it. This bike is basically just to get downtown and back, so I want a cheap, low capacity battery. I'm happy with anything over 7.5Ah that will source 750W. But I also want to be sure it won't burn my house down...

    Pegs on mountain bike conversion?

I bought a beat up softtail mountain bike that I'm planning to turn into an ebike. My goal is to take it downtown, have a few drinks, and ride it home at the end of the night. I figure I'd get a lot of utility out of it by being able to accommodate a passenger. It seems to me like the easiest...

    BMS suggestions

Have you guys ever considered diyBMS (v4)? https://github.com/stuartpittaway/diyBMSv4 I stumbled across this today. It looks like it's designed with power banks in mind, but I'm not sure if that matters. It's got a lot of nice features and I respect that it's open source. I'd consider using one...

Motors - state of the community

I'm planning a e-motorcycle build based on a Honda Grom frame. What I'd like to do is approximate the performance of a CSC City Slicker, meaning roughly a 5kW motor. I also want to keep my options open if I decide to upgrade the motor to something like 15kW or perhaps 25kW - so the motor voltage...
