    Building a pack

update. the two cells are definitely at zero. however, dumb me. the 20 amp fuse i replaced coming off the pack had blown. with the two dead cells the pack still comes up 41.7 volts. guess I should change those two. maybe thats why my speed and distance dropped significantly who knows how long...

    Building a pack

Agreed dogman, I'm going at this kinda blind, would just as soon buy a built pack with bms, controller and charger. with little to spend it's difficult. in a couple months wouldn't be an issue, but I need this thing back on the road ASAP. even if a repair would get it going, I'd by a bigger pack...

additional note, while the bike was on the bus rack, the wheel could not spin, causing the issue when the power was sent.

    Building a pack

The bike was on the front of a bus when the storm hit. Something shorted engaging the motor, when I got off and went to remove the bike, the battery smelled burnt, was very hot, enough to melt the plastic case. When I got it home, let everything cool and dry out. dissembled everything and tried...

HUH? 380 as in three hundred eighty? what am I missing. did I really screw up the calculation that much? I was thinking if each cell is 3.2v 1250 mah multiply that to equate total, hence 20 cells + 64V, 25 AH. help me understand?

    bearing replacement

I have An crystalyte 408/4011 for about a year and a half, allot of riding on this motor, over 9000 miles. Lately I notice some noise and vibration. I believe I have narrowed it down to the bearings going bad. So my question is in seeking advice on where to purchase replacement bearings, and the...

    Charger replacement

Thanks for responding so promptly. It took alittle work to get the metal casing off, but here is the inside pic. Not very noticeable in the pic but appears as though whatever the item is in the lower left corner with the philips head indent is melted also affecting the two blueish resistors to...

    Charger replacement

I am 100% dependent on my bike for transportation and my charger bailed on me last night. It is Fuyuang "switching power supply" model: FY4502500. Input 100-240VAC 50/60Hz 2A. Output: 45VDC 2.5A, with led going green <300mA. This provides power for my crystalyte 408/4011 running with 36V 10/Ah...

    finding details to enable upgrade

Thanks for the good information. I'm pretty sure (90%) my controller is capable of handling up 72v I've added an 18 volt in series for about a 6 mile ride in the past and it performed well. my meter showed 62 volt at full charge prior the ride. ran at 23/24 mph. the problem was that the...
