Power analyzer (inline meter) that measures power in both directions?

I have this power analyzer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PF67T3P It's great, but it only measures power going in one direction (from source to load). Does anyone know of a similar product that measures power flowing in both directions?

Charging several 10S4P 36v battery packs with solar?

Man, thanks jonyjoe, phenomenal info. Much to digest! I see a lot of eBay in my future. And I'm confused, in that setup, what exactly is the charge controller? And what amperage do you send to your batts during bulk/absorption?

Charging several 10S4P 36v battery packs with solar?

I've done that in the past (no need to match the A by the way, except as a minimum, as long as the voltage is matched), but it sounds much better in theory than practice in my experience. There's a lot to be said for being able to plug a laptop into any power plug in the camper, as opposed to...

Charging several 10S4P 36v battery packs with solar?

Thanks for that. Both the RV and "taco truck" are wired for 12 volt, but it's all lower power stuff (stereo and lights mostly), so I was thinking about using something like this to step the batteries down to 12 volt: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0756T983Q And a 36 volt inverter like...

White putty used in battery packs?

The putty I see on battery packs doesn't appear to be silicone. It doesn't have that waxy silicone texture. Using silicone strikes me as a bad idea because nothing sticks to silicone including silicone. Once you use it you can't use an adhesive anymore.

Charging several 10S4P 36v battery packs with solar?

Yup, I understand the risks. Still wondering about the logistics of charging these through solar though, whether I use them in this RV or a different project. I've also got a sort of taco truck (actually a bar built onto a trailer) that I need to make a power pack for, and a fire there would...

Charging several 10S4P 36v battery packs with solar?

I should mention, I have a good place for the batteries, in the metal box that formerly housed a generator. It's very well insulated and vented to the outside. If there happened to be a fire it would go out the side of the camper, not in the living space. I might add some Hardie Board as extra...

Charging several 10S4P 36v battery packs with solar?

I've got three lithium battery packs built for electric bikes, each a different capacity, from 300 to 500 watt hours. I'm thinking about using them as a battery bank in my RV since my lead acid batteries are about 6 years old now. I've got a few questions for the lithium battery wizards: - I'm...

    How to charge this battery?

Thanks for that. Is it common for a BMS to use the same wires for charging and discharge? And would that be an indication that this doesn't have a LVD? Or maybe it can still charge when in LVD?

White putty used in battery packs?

I really like the white putty commonly used in Lithium battery packs. Does anyone happen to know what that is? In this pic for example: Really handy for sealing up wiring holes in a battery pack. I currently use hot glue but it's a bit stiff compared to that putty.

Usefulness of fireproof bags for 10S3P batteries?

I'm looking for an explosion proof (or resistant, ha) bag for a 10S3P 36 volt battery, with dimensions of about 15 inches by 4.5 inches (aka 38cm x 12cm). Has anyone found anything that they'd recommend? Ideally buying from Amazon. Was considering this one...

    How to charge this battery?

I opened it up and it has what looks like a bms, but with no obvious charging tabs. It has the pos and neg wires going to the xt60 jack, then the other three wires are labelled TXC for the yellow wire, RXT for the blue and GND for the black. There 2.8 volts on the RXT (blue wire), nothing on...

    How to charge this battery?

How could a 36 volt lithium pack cost what a bms costs ($10)? Doesn't sound possible. And googling, it looks like Jetech are good batteries, but I'm not getting any info on this one. And it doesn't sound possible that the bms in a 10s3p pack has only 3 wires. But I'd love to get confirmation on...

    How to charge this battery?

I've never heard of a 36v battery pack without a bms. Do they exist? And I think those 3 wires aren't enough for a bms anyway, am I right? (Not saying I'm right, genuinely wondering).

    How to charge this battery?

It's 35 volts, which is what makes me think it's still good. It's definitely an XT60 jack. I've never seen a battery pack of that size charge and discharge thru the same jack. Is it likely to be the same port used for both charging and discharge in this case? And you don't think the bms is...
