    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

So it's been 12 years since I first purchased the kit! I haven't commute on the bike due to job change but I've kept the battery charged until about 2-3 years ago when my charger died without me knowing.Since then it wouldn't charge even with new charger. Not sure if it's the battery or BMS...

Elation eBike Technical Support - V2

Are you referring to this freewheel? I had considered it but from the reading here they are a bit thicker? http://www.sickbikeparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=173&osCsid=ecm8oec2ttbsltrecd5cga4t96 I wasn't sure if it was a direct replacement. Did you simply replace the...

Elation eBike Technical Support - V2

After a long time, I managed to fix my freewheel crank. It is the 'DICTA' version, not the CSK sprague version (thank god). So I changed the freewheel with ACS one. It fits perfectly, From eclipsebike.com in UK, 18GBP shipped to Australia! Great price and service...

Elation eBike Technical Support - V2

My V2 Freewheel Crankset had given up for a long time now. So I am researching how to get the Sprag clutch fixed. The Clutch seems to be CSK-PP34 (or CSK35PP) Previous communication with Allan from elsewhere: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=21248&start=15 Quotes from...

Well after 3+ years the first major malfunction :( On my way to work my crank freewheel finally failed. It now does freewheel BOTH ways. Lucky my battery was full and I simply throttle home :D Thanks for the tip re: pressed sprague clutch. I will try to dissasemble this tomorrow.

Elation eBike Technical Support - V2

Please expand in details ? What is this "shunt resistor" ??? :D What is a "standard throttle" Edit: Found it: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=14846&start=0 Is it really that easy ??

Elation eBike Technical Support - V2

That's not good. My V2 crank developed intermittent "jam". If it's the same design as V3 then it may not be replaceable.

Elation eBike Technical Support - V2

Problem: Intermittent connection after long use. In my case it started after >2 yrs, so I suppose this is normal wear/tear or dirt. Solution: Spray WD40 from the front of the switch. Avoid spraying the electronics. A more elegant solution would be to replace the switch, as it looks generic...

Elation eBike Technical Support - V2

Hey guys, seeing that Elation is no longer supporting the product due to going out of business, lets share information here ! I will copy critical information here, just in case things are missing in the future: http://polygon-quatro.blogspot.com/2011/10/elation-ebike-technical-support-v2.html...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

Thanks Wombat and Amberwolf. I have the tool to take off the Chainring, in fact :) so no issues there. I have, however, little knowledge how the freewheel is constructed. From memory it seems that there is a mechanism in the centre which could be taken off, but with some special tool which I...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

Hi Wombat, sorry to hear your problems. I've read that in the other thread too. I have entirely contrasting experience. Bought the kit (V2) more than 2 years ago and have ridden it: - Daily commute of 30k - Long ride (120+ km) - Steep moountains of switzerland and france - Through that huge...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

I just realised that Elation had closed the business :( .. I had only great experience dealing with him. One worth to mention, I was packing my ebike for shipment to Europe. As the packing guy told me to remove the pedal I ruined the crankshaft. Darn. I emailed Allan to get a replacement crank...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

The past week had been quite horrific in terms of Melbourne weather. Literally someone was jetskiing on the streets! Our area was flooded but the house is safe. So we decided to check out the situation ... 8) That is normally a dry and dusty trail. This is at a place where we can't...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

Well the eLation finally met its match yesterday. I took it from Zermatt (1600m) towards Gornegrat (3000+m), halfway. It was a gravel hiking road which is ridiculously steep. Even pushing the bike up the road and using the motor, the rear wheel slips ! Normally people would just take the train...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

Generally metal to metal contacts are not good when it comes to mounting. I put a piece of old tube rubber between battery mount and frame (was just an instinct, and don't want to scratch the frame). Never had to fiddle with the mounting. I ride the bike pretty hard going bush, jumping down...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

After more than a year on eBike I can share few points in my real-world usage of the "system". - The first time I use the eBike it seemed I use the motor very much. Lazy pedalling. Always around 80% throttle and for my 17k commute perhaps 90% the electric motor is used. - Gradually I noticed I...

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

I took the Elation to another long ride, this time up the mountain of Morzine-Avoriaz to see Tour de France. The climb was 500m to 1700m in 45km. Again I try to conserve the battery by pedalling but it's just simply a big climb. Battery was ok up to Morzine (45km) but on the way down I was...

Show me your 700c! (Or, Project "electro weight weenie")

My 700c build ! Bike: Schwinn full race (KMart) 8). Kit: Elation 200w Drop bar converted to flat courtesy of the local tip. This thing is light and FAST but I really can't afford to have punctures every 2 weeks on my way to work!

    eLation 200watt kit (Australia)

I took the Elation for the most torturous test to date :D. Starting from Lausanne then going around the lake Leman (lake Geneva) to Montreux, Vevey, Villenueve then crossing to France - Evian, Thonon and various small towns along the way back to Switzerland in Geneva. Total distance was 136km...
