I retried the controller and it seems to work properly, except for some vibrations. there is probably a fail safe check that prevents the controller from working if a mosfet is shorted...     What's your top speed?

    With the same kit I get 21 mph too with 36V SLA, and 26-27 mph with 44V LIPO 12S The fastest I ever got was 30mph, slight downhill and tail wind.
