That Zoom fork is NOT something you want to use off road at pretty much any speed let alone 35 mph. There has been more than one that has broken while in use. Be careful! tom

BMS or active battery balancer for 20s pack

Hey Amberwolf, I’m not sure how it would act with just an active balancer. I assume it just constantly charges and drops current as it gets to the programmed voltage. I charge to 82 volts if memory serves me. If I lean toward the BMS but then have to buy another charger but if I go with a...

BMS or active battery balancer for 20s pack

Hi all, So I find in an odd spot. Been around for a long, long time yet need some advice…….So for years I ran a Adapto MaxE controller with built in BMS and charging. It was wonderful……just charging and riding without a care in the world with a 24s15p 30q pack. So then I upgrade to the Nuc 24F...

What I noticed going from a Adaptto to a Nuc 24 was the motor was substantially cooler and more powerful at the same setting. 14KW on the Adaptto felt like 10KW on the Nuc. That said it is definitely more efficient than the Adaptto and that was after years of adjusting the MaxE for efficiency...

    Burned out on burnouts

I have a 17KW hub powered ebike with Shinko 241’s on it. For the life of me I can not get it to burnout on rough concrete due to traction. I have a 220 front brake and it just pushes the front tire but the rear doesn’t break loose……probably from the weight of the motor, the 20s15p pack and the...

Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev!

VasiliSK, When the BMS are available will they be filled off the original pre order? I pre ordered back in late 18 or early 19, I forget right now when I ordered the 24F. Just want to make sure I’m still on the pre order for one and don’t need to do anything else? Thanks Tom

How often do you go through appliances?

I was a home builder for 20 years. I’ve had a Whirlpool account for 30 something years where I could buy at 40 to 60 cents on the dollar. Every time I built myself a new house I bought new washer & dryer. Starting around 2008 the highest end washers I swear had a timer built in that lasted 13...

Going to get fun for you now! QS 205 and a Nuc will blow you away power wise when you get it. Super cool. Tom

Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev!

That is why I’m afraid to update my controller. It’s so bad ass I can’t think of anything more I could need from it……except still wanting that BMS. Tom

Job well done! Looks like you wore your toy out…..the rest of us should be so lucky! Congrats! That does remind me of a super kick ass toy I had….a Drakart Formula Cross. Single seat off road car with 16” of travel at all for corners and a 110 hp ski doo snowmobile motor solid mounted to the...

    E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Cozen, What your asking is correct. You will need a bigger/more powerful pack with a more powerful controller to push more power. You don’t necessarily have to go higher voltage though…..when you have feild weakening. I had forgotten that you had the F37….I’m not sure what amount of batteries...

If your worried about loosing acceleration just get a more powerful controller. When you get over 12kw nothing weight wise matters! I’m at 17kw now and can’t keep the front end down! Get the moto rims and live! Tom

That does help thanks. I have quite a bit of experience with off road cars with up to 16” of travel and motocross bike suspension but not bicycle stuff. I have been saying for a while that this heavy ass motor/rear end needs a larger “motorcycle” sized rear shock to control it. Sounds like you...

1abv, So is the rear shock just excellent? I keep thinking I want to buy a better rear shock. No regrets? Anything you would change? How does it do in whoops and when the wheel comes off the ground? Tom
