    charging a warm battery

Was wondering the same thing. Was going to start a thread till I saw this. After 1 hour ride to work the Lifepo4 are warm and I start the charge within a few minutes of arriving. I figured the same as dogman warm is ok, hot is not. I charge at .5C, maybe if i charged at 5C it would make a...

    dead Lifepo4

Found a dead headway Lifepo4 cell in my pack, shows 0v but passes current. A friend stacked by trike and the pack broke loose hit the ground, smashing the plastic tub there in. The cell at the impact point is the dead one. It hasnt shorted out as there would be tall tail signs of arcing.There...

    crystalyte 5304 specs

The battery is 10AH can do 15C peak The setting in the controller is a % of max power its 48A cont ,100A peak. So not sure what the % is cont or peak. Set it to 80% and boy does that sucker go now, pushes me back on the seat, dont want to test top speed till i get a steering dampener. I'm about...

    crystalyte 5304 specs

Hi I have a crystalyte 5304 motor. The spec says 390RPM 768W 20A 48V. So what would the maximum current/wattage the motor could handle. I have set my controller to limit at 20A, but wonder if thats right. I figure this is why its a bit sluggish to start up. I also notice after an hour ride the...

Known to Work Brushless Motor/Controller Wiring Diagrams

With my controller http://kellycontroller.com/KBShelp.php I set the motor current to 20% as the controller is 100A and the motor is 20A so 20% But I also set the battery to 20% where it should be 100% I have not proved this as I have not had the time to take it for a good spin.

Known to Work Brushless Motor/Controller Wiring Diagrams

motor Crytalyte 504 controller Kelly KBS72101 Matching the colors just made it go backwards After finding this thread I found this which was the closest to my config. So I matched the phases name (not pin numbers as there different) Motor - controller Blue - Yellow(A) Green - Green (B) Yellow...

    Do you ned a BMS

The big thing about the law here is "200W ungoverned" that means the controller cant be restrictive to make it legal, the motor it self must 200W, so this rules out a few of the above suggestions. My thinking is with the 408 motor, it is less efficient at 24 V, but as it is 200W at 24V it is...

    Do you ned a BMS

Thanks for the replies At the moment I plan to use a crystalist 408 motor powered from 16 10AH Lifepo4 batteries on a recumbent tadpole. I am considering make it switchable from 1x48v to 2x 24v, this is so I can have an off road (48v@500W) on road(2x24@200w) as the laws here only allow 200W...

    Do you ned a BMS

Hi all Have started to look at ebikes and have a few question so I will start with the power ones. Do I need a BMS. Do pre built packs have BMS built in? The controller I am looking at has LVC in it so I suppose thats a discharge BMS and I can build a simple comparator circuit to monitor each...
