    Recent build: Pikachu

Yes, I have a 10t in my girlfriend's 700c road bike (I've rode it a bunch). Running on 14s it gets to around 30 mph. I'd feel comfortable putting a 8T on it but she doesn't take it over 25 mph anyways : p

    Recent build: Pikachu

Looks good. I have used MAC 8t and 10T rear motors here in Portland. I didn't know the grades where that high around here! I've went up to Council Crest on my commute from downtown to Multnomah village. Motors seem fine with it(and I believe it's the highest point in Portland).

Motorizing a Catrike Speed- Best option?

Still saying to go with em3ev. The issue is in how long it takes to ship from China, especially now that they seem to be back ordered on the batteries. My last two battery packs seem to have taken 3 weeks to a month. Paul is a great guy though and Moon answers every email within like 12 hours...

Safe speeds on non-suspended, 20" front wheel, LWB recumbent

Honestly I would think 35 mph would be a good speed depending on where you live. I say 30-35 just so you can get out into traffic on a city street when you don't have a bike lane. It makes you much more confident in those situations. I've generally been going 20-25 mph on my commutes/and joy...

Motorizing a Catrike Speed- Best option?

Have you thought about a MAC kit from em3ev? The geared hub motors are generally lighter. You would have to check with them on a 6T motor wind. With a 20" wheel I would think you would get 30 mph (50v battery) out of it. I just did a build with a kit from them. With the motor and battery it...

Updated battery info 33g & questions

It's for my girlfriends road bike/commuter. I can't believe the small triangle pack actually fit in her step through. She was getting her 24 mile commute done on 5 year old 12s 10ah Lipo so I imagine this new pack will get her almost 60 miles!

Updated battery info 33g & questions

Strange, some of the specs on the sheet look like they're for a 50v pack pack not a 36v one, for example the charge at 58.8v. I think I'd focus on the measured column. The other columns just seem to be related to the testing procedure. I'm not sure if the impedance of 74 milliohms is good or...

Updated battery info 33g & questions

I ordered some 33G packs from him. 2 small triangle 50.4V 18.6Ah ones. He's been great in the past and they are responsive to emails. One pack is already on its way. I am also trying to get away from the always-be-careful lipos.

    Mac 8t with Sunthing 48V 15Ah?

Yeah, looks like I am down just 1 pack since I had a couple spare ones and I was able to salvage 5 that didn't go below 2.7-2.8v. I'm going to throw the others out.

    Mac 8t with Sunthing 48V 15Ah?

Ok, I usually do a bulk charge anyways I.e. I do not hook up balance wires to the iCharger. I tried to charge up a pack that was all at 2.8 and I can tell on my cell log that it stayed in balance up to 3.6(then I stopped charging). Maybe I should just bulk charge the other 4 packs that are still...

    Mac 8t with Sunthing 48V 15Ah?

Humm, that's interesting they are at 2.8 v per cell for most of the packs. One bank of 4 packs has 1 cell at 1.6v. Maybe I should try to charge them. The iCharger doesn't seem happy though (no bulk charger).

    Mac 8t with Sunthing 48V 15Ah?

I've been running hk lipo for 2-3 years. In the last 2-3 weeks however I left the battery hooked up to my controller and it drained it far to low.. So, I'm in the market for a new battery. Trying to stay away from hk lipo. I looked up my controller and I have a 9 fet 30a with the mac 8t. Would...

iCell...New Bluetooth / cellphone cell monitor

Same with mine. One of the voltages is off by .05. If you read this thread they said there will be a app update to calibrate it: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2108670&page=2

About to order 48v15ah li-ncm from BMSBattery, should I??

True, I had an issue or two with my order. It was a motor kit. For one the wheel was not even close to true. For another there was something wrong with it as evident from the terrible noise it made when trying to accelerate. But that was with a hub motor not a battery!

About to order 48v15ah li-ncm from BMSBattery, should I??

I think it was them who sent me an e-mail after I ordered telling me it would cost extra for shipping. That was just with a motor in rim. I can't remember how much extra they wanted (even though I already paid for shipping when I ordered). That was a couple years ago though so maybe they've...

TESLA to Plans to Build World’s Biggest Battery Factory!

So the argument for hydrogen is that we can switch over to natural gas production instead of gas(because the efficiently drops way down for all other sources). They already said it will cost roughly the equivalent of driving with gas. So why should people switch? Don't you think a lot of people...

Yeah same here. Over 70% or Oregon's power is from hydro and other renewables.

TESLA to Plans to Build World’s Biggest Battery Factory!

Or just do a battery swap. I think the superchargers are good enough even in the present form. After a couple hundred miles of driving I feel like a break anyways. 80% charge in 40 min and it's only going to improve.

TESLA to Plans to Build World’s Biggest Battery Factory!

I admire this move. If tesla wants to release the model e at the volumes they're predicting, they had to do this. They can't even get enough batteries to meet demand of 30,000 model s's per year. This is putting a date on one of the biggest turning points of modern mobility and new technology...
