Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

Could anyone upload their config file for me to base from? Want to compare and contrast. Specifically field weakening and ebrake config I am interested in. Thanks

DIY High Cell Count Balance Charger for Cheap

I agree, building the packs for common charge methods is a good idea. Thats why I was thinking of using multiple small balance chargers at once, where you said this: Connect the two in series for 20S usage. Thasts why I thought, why not use the incredibly cheap and seemingly decent quality 6s...

DIY High Cell Count Balance Charger for Cheap

Are all of the typical RC / hobby based balance chargers capable to be connected in series, is that a common design trait to them? i.e. essentially a floating supply? If so, that is indeed a neat solution. I have 2 chargers of that type actually, how can I test that they are an isolated...

Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

A nice review Souvlucky. I had a similarly enjoyable experience with the commute this morning. I fixed the hall sensor ground and now auto tune works perfectly and FOC control was enabled. The most apparent difference after just 1 ride is how smooth this controller is. Buttery smooth! I will...

Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

I found the problem; where I had moved the wheel over, the ground wire had chaffed where it left the axle. I will repair that tomorrow and fingers crossed the auto tune will work. As a side note, I was provided these instructions on how to debug the halls. Very useful info! Go to controller -...

Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

My MXUS is not quite ready for use yet, so I used my existing geared motor wheel build (BMC torque). I wasn't successful getting the auto tune to work with this motor (I set the poles to 16 first, as instructed) but at the end of the auto tune, the wheel spins, I got "hall fail" error. I...

Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev!

Just posting up to say that the 12F powered me to work this morning :) The configuration is vast, certainly need to play around with the settings a LOT more!

Its a 12F using a 4T MXUS. I don't mind a bit of weight shifting to get the front lifted initially. I can happily wheelie without a motor :) I am more interested in decent control of the throttle during the wheelie. Should I start saving for the 24F?!

What are the best control modes plus throttle config for wheelie control, would anyone know? I am almost at the point where I can test this thing out for real! Hopefully tomorrow.

Hi Peter, I have ordered MXUS 3k plus 12F Nucular, so we will have the same setup. I will post up how I get on!

Where to buy MXUS in EU?

Interesting. I hadn't heard that regarding the logo. I placed my order as per the first reply in this thread, still waiting for it. By how much does the logo stick out? Nothing a file cannot fix? Thanks

    Done. Perfect, thanks!

Where to buy MXUS in EU?

Afternoon, I am after the MXUS V3 in 5T winding, I cannot seem to find anywhere in EU that sells this. They are all 3T. Does anyone know where I might find one? If not EU, where is the best source for the 5T globally? I am guessing their popularity has died because this time last year when...

    BMS-Battery 900 watt charger failure

Yes I am sure, it was the smaller transformer that died. Not the IGBT's. It used to have a yellow plastic protective casing around it, it is now black and charred. It failed previously by the inductor having a bad solder connection, causing a few sparks so I simply resoldered that. 30 charges...

    High Quality Charger

I have narrowed it down to 2 choices: beefier chinese charger "lottery" running at ~50%, or start playing with mean well supplies. Still haven't chosen my path yet!

    High Quality Charger

rc groups threads people argue about pros and cons of balancing. lots of people have fine results without balancing, so i took the risk as it is one complication less. i may be buying a lipo pack in the future... and for that i will of course balance charge it. but for a123, i am risking not...

    High Quality Charger

Too cheap? if you read OP, i said max $500. How is that too cheap? And there is no need to use a BMS on A123 cells. read.

    High Quality Charger

I thought the only way to adjust current was to alter the voltage? Do the 400W chargers have both adjustable voltage AND current? I tuned the voltage to my needs... hadn't realised the current was configurable too. I have no problem running it at say 75%. In fact, I would rather do that than...

    High Quality Charger

Hi All, My BMS battery charger has just gone pop. I was using it at 66.4V to charge an a123 pack at around 5A charge current, so fairly slow and safe. No BMS required. I would like to replace it with a more robust charger of similar (or perhaps better) spec but from searching these forums...

    BMS-Battery 900 watt charger failure

Mine just died now too... though the transformer went up in smoke... There is no way to determine the part number, so it is terminal. Time to get a new charger...

BMC V2 new clutch and rewire

bio, with my setup I do not get stuttering at that speed. But I do get very stuttery acceleration at low speeds (8mph and below). Above 8 mph, it is smooth as normal. I am running 66.4V with konion cells with a Lyen 12 FET 3077 controller. I too settled on 35A as per neptronix. Have you tried...

    First time powering on!

So with the sensor supply fixed, the bike moves! After the repair, I did a full bench test at 5A and the wheel span nice and smoothly. A couple of hours later, the wheel is installed on the bike and it moves! Still running 5A (16s, so thats still 300W). Time to kick it up to 15A (~900W) to see...

Sadly I am in the UK and the motor was from USA. Postage is too high to replace it. Its also laced to a wheel
