    Readily available quality BMS

Unbelievable!!...Of course you have never had an issue because you said yourself in the video you have a BMS installed. You say you charge at 20 amps?... "In addition we have a battery monitoring system....just to double check that every cell is in its SAFE range"...what a joke!.. So here is Rod...

    Readily available quality BMS

LOL...I decided to go to 28 be cause 1) It turns the h4080 faster... 2) It gives me more range... 3) It's less stressful on all the batteries..4) Gives more torque and speed...AND!!..I have the room in the battery box neatly tucked away under the seat.. However, noone talked about the little...

    Readily available quality BMS

Ok not sure what this means.... ive decided to go with evpower's individual bms units that shunt the voltage to whatever cell goes beyond 3.6 volts... I have 28 headways and so need 28 of these lovelies....Once i get the lot balanced up with the weak RC charger( I can do six at a time) ( Imax...

    Readily available quality BMS

Thanks for the info...what I was hoping was for someone to respond with a good BMS and experience to go along with it. The expensive one you mentioned is over $400.00 and the other is $95.00...big difference in price...one is unrealistic and the other might not be very good... John

    Readily available quality BMS

Thanks, but that is not accurate. There are of course 28 series BMS's you can buy but since I dont have time to scrounge the internet for reliable and well made yet affordable BMS's I put out this question for others on here in case someone is aware of anything different. It does seem that you...

    Crystalyte controller to crystalyte throttle

Ok I was getting the female and male connectors mixed up...ok so the reader who verified the pin out on the throttle side was correct, red=5v, yellow=ground, green=throttle signal, but not on the controller...I think that the black on the controller side is ground, guessing that green is the...

    Crystalyte controller to crystalyte throttle

Ok well you told me that whats left over is the throttle...in this case a 3 pin female connector, but its not the connector im interested in but the 3 wires connected to it and their designation ;) John

    Crystalyte controller to crystalyte throttle

well, lol we cant have that then can we?....someone will know which wires to hook up on the controller side to the throttle side... No I didnt get em confused...look more closely at the diagram....the "?" mean I dont know what it's designation is John

    Crystalyte controller to crystalyte throttle

Thats the throttle your talking about?....yes I could hook up the controller and see what is what but I have the throttle and controller in a different place then the rest of the trike and wanted to solder connections to both before hooking up to the rest of the trike. Need to know the wires for...

    100 Volt controllers

Well I think im convinced. Im having the motor wired with Hall sensors and going this route. Its a wonder most reliable and very good controllers like kelly dont have sensorless controllers and especially not much more than 72 volts. Live and learn.... Hey Lock....once I get this mess sorted...

    100 Volt controllers

Current=torque Volts=rotational speed So the idea that increased voltage with a sensorless controller is a bad idea is correct?....but why?...I still havent heard an explanation.I heard that increasing the voltage makes it harder for the controller to initiate and coordinate the phases but WHY...

    100 Volt controllers

ok..that would explain why when i bumped up the power from 72 to 92 volts, the "stuttering " at low speed was considerably worse...problem is that I coated the inside of the motor with tranny fluid as I wanted to try an oil cooled set up but when I couldnt stop the thing from leaking, I drilled...

    Lyen 18 FET Controller Blown

Thank you for your reply. With respect to my trike, reliability would be my number 1 concern. I have had good luck with the Lyen controllers untill recently. I will look into these products! John

    Lyen 18 FET Controller Blown

Thank you for your input...of course I have heard of Kelly as I used to run one at 48 volts...I think they are among the most reliable units you can buy but are not exactly cheap. I am trying to get a controller that will be reliable as I have a trike I have developed and will be initiating a...

    Lyen 18 FET Controller Blown

Well I did a test of the FETS and the last 4 are blown for sure I did a continuity test between the red power connector of the controller and each of the 3 phase wires and blue and green were fine untill i came to the yellow one and found continuity...so i opened up the controller only to find...
