    BBS02 chain line issues?

I use Alcedo 38t with 10sp Shimano cassette on my wife's bike. The chain line is not optimal, but no chain drops, no chain slips on backpedaling, and shifting is good. The chain is KMC x10e if I recall correctly. Not the quietest one, but crisp and sturdy.

How to extend a battery wire?

After consulting with Paul, decided to go with the extension cord, without soldering. Magnetic panic connectors is a very nice idea, but according to Paul, 4mm bullets are of the same nature - they will pull easily and harmlessly if pulled. I take his word on it. :D After I think about it...

How to extend a battery wire?

Again, guys, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty - I works with bikes, sometimes my hands are so dirty, that you can grow thing on them. :D But I can't allow to ruin the motor, by doing something wrong and burning the controller or something. Battery in the backpack is not ideal, I know...

How long is power cable on BBS01

Paul's BBSs come with 4mm bullet connectors, he puts some spares in the package usually. The length of the cord that comes from the motor is about 40cm - pretty short.

How to extend a battery wire?

Unfortunately, I'm absolutely ignorant in electric stuff and that kind of work (soldering). Given that I just can't mess up the motor (or the battery), because importing it to our country is illegal, and if anything happens to the motor I can do nothing about it. That is the reason I prefer not...

How to extend a battery wire?

Wow, I suspected it can't be just easy like that (((( I've planned to get an extension cord, a 1 meter cut to connect between two ends with 4mm connectors.. What can be potential problems with this connection? The magnetic connection would be the best, but who makes them? Soldering is not a...

How to extend a battery wire?

I want to move the battery from a frame to a backpack, but the wire is too short, I need another meter or so. What is the easiest plug-n-play solution for this? The connection used is 4mm connectors, and I do have spare units.

Ibis Mojo HD and Bafang BBS02 marriage

Hey, thanks ))) According to Paul's data it's Ah(nom): 9.8 The total is for 100% charge, as far as I know (until the charger turns green). I had 8sp cassette before this one, I wouldn't say it holds good. Although this 10sp setup has not been thoroughly tested yet, but 8sp SRAM cassette with...

Ibis Mojo HD and Bafang BBS02 marriage

Just a follow up. In order to make the bike more pedalable, I decided to ditch the heavy 44T Bafang chainring with it's so called paper plastic "bashguard". After much consideration and search, I went with Alcedo Italia 36T NW chainring. I chose this one, because only they offer the chainring...

BBS02 thumb throttle seems to be on/off only

I'm not sure, if it supposed to regulate at all, to say the truth. I know my wife's adjusted to the way it is, but she's using it only for starting again on climbs. In regular circumstances she always prefers pedal start. It is softer and doesn't have the starting jerk, as with throttle.

    Bafang aftermarket chainrings?

Alcedo Italia make 36T chainrings, although their website is not built for international users, since it's in Italian and no shipping options. I am trying to order this one, but it goes kind of hard until now. For you knowledge, they offer only the expensive DHL shipping (at least for my...

BBS02 thumb throttle seems to be on/off only

Besides, with BBS0X you should regulate the bike's speed not by throttle, but rather by changing gears, like on motorbike. When you're on the largest cog on the rear, the on/off option won't give you more than 10-15 kmh anyway, so you can work the gears up, as if you on a motorcycle (which is...

BBS02 thumb throttle seems to be on/off only

On my wife's bike the throttle overruns the PAS level and operates at full force. Although I do feel graduation, but it's hard to feel, because the throttle travel is very short and easy. If you sit on the bike, you will feel it more clearly. However, due to the easiness of the throttle spring...

    BBS02 pedaling ability

Thank you, I'm still considering the purchase of one of your adapters via eBay. But not until Alcedo Italia will answer me. They have 36T chainring as well, but inclined inside, which is almost as good as the original chainring. Also, for those who suffer of high wearing of the narrow/wide...

    BBS02 pedaling ability

42t cog will not work well on 8 speed cassette. Besides, with 42t chainring, it gives 1:1 ratio, which is not great for climbs. On steep climbs you need at least 0.8 ration, and I'm talking here about light bike with a fit rider. On heavy bike with a not so fit rider 0.76 is much more...

    BBS02 pedaling ability

Actually, there was no issues with the chainline until now. The chain drops happen because I used a cheap SRAM X9 rear derailleur. It doesn't have any tension, or moreover a clutch. If I go for 10-speed cassette with 13-42 cogs and Shimano's Dynasys clutch, combined with a narrow-wide chainring...

    BBS02 pedaling ability

The problem is that with 42t chainring it's not really pedalable. With 38t it becomes more realistic, but still very much not optimal. Besides, the only option I found for 38t chainring for this motor is Bistark, and it costs like it was made of gold. My idea is to fit through an adaptor a...

    BBS02 pedaling ability

I was wondering about how the motor would react, if I attach to it pedalable 32T chainring? The goal is to achieve the ability to pedal the motor when the battery runs out on one hand, or maybe use the motor as an auxiliary unit, mean pedal it, and turn it on when assistance needed. Any...

    bbs02 chain slipping. 8 speed?

Chain + bike new - good, it eliminates some of the versions. What would I do: 1. Ditch the Acera and change it to Sram X4. At this level Sram is better, it has larger pulleys, different cable alignment (like Shadow Plus in much more expensive XT) and a little firmer tension spring. 2. It looks...

    bbs02 chain slipping. 8 speed?

Good chain doesn't slip. FD and chain guide are pretty much a patch to the existing problem, which is one of the following: 1. Worn chain 2. Too long chain 3. B-tension screw way off. Now, since you have 8-speed cassette, i.e. you're using cheap and simple rear derailleur, without clutch (as...

    BBS02 Maintenance

Is there any maintenance routine for BBS02, even at the basic level? The motor is used off-road, naturally, it accumulate dust, sand and debrys. Recently, there is a weak uniform grinding sound when I slowly turn pedals on switched off motor. The sound disappears when the pace goes up a notch...
