Building a high speed bike (Suspended...)

For the rear shock I'm using a: Fox DHX 5.0 190-230mm. It should be able to compress fully. However looking at it again I might take a little bit more of the frame indeed, just to be sure.

Building a high speed bike (Suspended...)

Thanks for the carbon fiber tips! Especially the ones regarding the shells/barrings, saves me a lot of trial and error. Hello kitty was just for fun indeed, it looks quite good in all black too. Loving your enthusiasm for the work I did, much appreciated :) I'm traveling the world for a year...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

I'm terribly sorry I feel like I kinde own every body here a result. I felt insecure about the project so decide to build a simple bike first, however sadly I had to drop that too. I made a quick topic about it here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=84315 I did learn a lot...

Building a high speed bike (Suspended...)

Hi, So I would like to start off by saying that I'm not going to finish this project. I actually already dropped it. The idea was to do it all and document the process a little. Been doing that and got right to the part where it was going to get interesting. However I've decided to spend my...

    Weird power cut off

Thanks! I thought that was it.. I bought this package, the whole thing was a little shady. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/70-100kph-speed-20-24-26-3kw-ebike-kit-3000w-electric-bike-conversion-kit-with-72v/2019863057.html I know never buy Chinese junk, but I just had good hope not all of them...

    Weird power cut off

Hi, Whenever i pull up to hard, (or go harder then 55km) something will cut me off. "power loss". Sometimes it comes back on, but most of the time i have to unscrew the battery from the controller. (because i have no kill switch yet) If i don't sit on the bike (no load) its spins just fine...

Hi all, I'm using a sabvoton controller in my setup. if anyone is familiar with the software, they might know what i'm doing wrong. I can't get RX light to start flashing. (no connection to the controller) The controller is hooked onto the battery and gets power. everything is connected and...

    Which bottom bracket to choose?

Hi, i'm slowly edging my way to a better understanding of building bikes, now this might not be the best place to ask this but; i'm a little lost in bottom brackets. i'm building a frame to support a battery of 15 cm wide!, it's quite a compact build and i need the peddles to be further apart...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

Yeah sorry I meant 18650 batteries, Thanks for the clarification! That's a lot heavier than I thought, haha. There both on the swing arm so the distances will stay the same, it frees up a lot of space in the frame as well. I've seen some images of a direct connection from ''a point somewhere...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

Yeah your definitely right, I wasn't trying to take the credits. If you have any more information about that bike please let me know. If they would just sell it, would save me a lot of money as well :) That picture is about two years old for all I know, also been following the lmx 81 frame...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

Alright so nothing is happening inside the tube itself its just a simple bar everything is mounted on. Its just as simple as buying a bar and three plain sprockets, will the gears than keep the bar from sliding out of the frame ?

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

Haha, it will be a tight fit though that 10kw golden motor, I check it real quick but it is possible. So I know the number of tooth on each gear and i'm going to use a 200mm HTD power belt, and a 420 bike chain from jackshaft to the wheel. there was a problem with the set-up a had; the swing...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

Thanks! Loving that excel sheet btw, but even that is a little overwhelming for me, as I do not know what all of it means, haha, but i will find out soon enough. I am working on new drawings, but I don't know what the standard width on the chains/belts are, at these kind of speeds they should...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

So here are some of the calculations me and my brother have done, well I've just watched my brother do all the work, but here is what came out: The wheels on my model have a radius of 30 cm, so the circumference is about 188cm. So within 1 revolution of the wheel, the bike travels 188 cm. Lets...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

I'm a bit slow sorry, but if I understand it correctly this gear should be bigger? I really like the sound of using a belt Correct me if i'm wrong: Reduction is just the difference between gears a higher reduction means smaller to bigger, can i just kind of guess the sizes? I don't know the...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

That's pretty technical. I'm not at home right now, and I'm going to need Google to figure out what's been said about the motor, but in the meantime this is the one I'm planning on using : http://www.revolt.org.il/rv-120-pro-with-hall-sensors/ And I'm aiming for a 90v battery

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

@silence: So outrunners have a spinning body! Thanks I didn't know that :) I'm having trouble to find similar motor's like the 'Revolt 120 pro', so I'm going to stick with this one, and just widen the frame. I made this new setup up and got rid of the 90 deree gearbox. @Drunkskunk: Cool...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

I really like the enthusiasm for the design & renders, thanks. Great tips as well! I have no experience whatsoever building bikes, or building anything. My profession is in art. So I have to read all of the suggestions and tips over and take some time to figure this stuff out. (the meaning of...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

Haha, I was aware of the controller placement. You're definitely right, it needs replacement. I thought there was a big down side on that worm drive setup, so sound it is... The reason way i did it was to keep the bike very small, I'm going to rethink the frame a little, but making it pretty...

    Small Hi-power bike Concept, reality?

Hi, So I've build a concept for a small e bike, I have absolutely no experience in any of this, so i was curios how practical the design actually is. It's mostly modeled after a picture i've seen somewhere. I was however thinking of building it. Like, will that custom swing arm work? And...

Right batteries? (A push in the right direction)

@ riba2233, and friendly1uk, I'm from Holland, live in Amsterdam. Why the many voltage, I'm looking to make an electric version of "the motoped pro" for on and off road. Why the two batteries, I would like them to position like this on the frame: On big battery is harder to fit. I'm...

Right batteries? (A push in the right direction)

So you suggest I build my own out of these 'samsung 25R batteries' connecting something like 52 together will make 48v. Making two of those, and connect them in series to create something like this...
