    Modding trottle signal

    Hi, I have purcased a e bike kit with a normal trottle with 3 wires. I want to make it as a 6kmh limit trottle. Can I put a variable resistor in serial on 5V red wire to on the trottle to get the speed limit down to 6kmh ?
