    Connecting to cyclone bluetooth controller?

I had this problem too. There are actually 2 different e-motor apps and one will connect but do nothing. You want this one: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/emotor/id1126260534?mt=8 I use I phone but I think they have an android version also. The password to connect to Cyclone drive is...

The BEST and FIRST Qulbix Raptor mid-drive build!

That makes sense now, I forgot you are doing the swingarm mount. I have a little over 800 miles now on the Rohloff tensioner (Cyclone 3000W) and no issues at all. I did have to machine down the inside of the derailleur cage to accept a wider chain though.

The BEST and FIRST Qulbix Raptor mid-drive build!

Elegant solution Mike. Mine is decidedly less elegant, I moved the axle all the way forward, and machined a spacer that goes behind the axle secured by the pinch bolt. So of course I have no adjustment for the chain tension, that is handled via the Rohloff chain tensioner. I am curious if...

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Mark-z.....appears it's a 10mm shaft. The cutting head is held on with a set screw and a "dimple" in the shaft. I think the biggest challenge for you making your own rig is holding the spoke at exactly the right position in relation to the cutting head. The Hozan does have some adjustment...

Nuggets - Nice custom parts!....I really like them!

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

It worked great for me! I attached a cordless electric drill to it instead of the crank handle and that really saves some time - but you do have to let the tool cool down about every 5 spokes or so. What I did - was cut the spokes first pass, then tighten the mandrel up a bit and cut a second...

    HPC Revolution XXX

No, just one. It works both directions so to speak. In one direction it's a very short motor cutout, and the other way its about 1.5 seconds I would say. So actually depending on what direction you install it you can adjust the power delay. In my case, I installed it on the "upper" Rohloff...

    HPC Revolution XXX

Not to hijack your thread, but I'm trying out a Rohloff IGH and so far it's working flawlessly. Shifts are crisp and positive. I only have about 120 miles on it right now but no issues yet. It's combined with a Cyclone mid drive. Also I incorporated the Gear Sensor with it because it would...

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Additionally Ziva at Qulbix has stated, if you ask nicely, she can have their Swingarm made in 135mm sent out individually or with your frame purchase. Standard Rohloff is 135mm. Wow that's good info on the 135! That could solve many problems if one doesn't want a hub motor. Kind of wishing...

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Thanks Dingus, all great ideas. I like the idea of rotation to adjust the chain the best, and I think the whole setup would also require a new "top" mount where you snug the motor up to the downtube, instead of this ridiculous hose clamp it comes with. Right now, on my Raptor project I'm using...

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Thanks Robo - Not sure what it would cost this early. Once I get my Raptor project finished I'll take a look at this (along with the left side reinforcement). Plus I'll have to find a suitable donor bike for prototyping it. Seems awhile back you tried to get Cyclone to produce some...

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

What if someone (me???) designed a two piece adjustable bracket that allowed the motor to slide and adjust chain tension without the need for a tensioner?

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Great question on the chain direction (I hadn't even considered it). Next time I have mine off I'll turn it around just to see if it behaves/sounds any different. Also, I don't use lube on my chains, I wax dip them - so this may help a bit as far as accumulated debris. But you are correct...

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Dingus, actually that link was Robocam's. There is no suggested direction. One thing to keep in mind with the "closed top" chain is it doesn't flex backwards at all. It's meant for a fixie/single speed with no tensioner since it can't wrap around. Link to mine (from Amazon)...

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Thanks for chiming in Matt! It is pretty heavy, north of 85 lbs right now. This is actually my first e-bike ever (never even rode one until mine was running a week ago)! So I wasn't really looking for a super high power build like you produce. YET. And I'm only running at 52V right now...

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

I can report the Rohloff will absolutely NOT shift under motor power at all. So I've ordered the Gear Sensor from Luna and will be trying to incorporate that into the setup.

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Actually it was easier than I thought. I thought I would either have to machine it or use a press (swingarm is steel - not aluminum). But in the end I used a 10mm threaded rod, 2 nuts, washers and thrust bearings and just kept expanding it equally on both sides till I ended up about 9mm wider...

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Sorry, I wrote something confusing. Yes they do have a "through axle" but it is the quick release skewer. It could possible work on a Qulbix swingarm but I want the much more robust 10mm threaded axle option (Qulbix dropout is 10mm). However you may also be referring to their new 12mm axle...

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Yes that would have been nice to do it that way, and more affordable. However Rohloff's don't have a "through" axle, they use what's called an axle plate and the nub of the axle is attached to that. So not possible to use any spacers at all. Fortunately Qulbix still offers the 165mm swingarm...

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Possibly, they were incredibly time consuming to create. And I need to confirm how robust the design will be as I've only just got the bike running. Not concerned with the rigidity aspect (my system mounts to the Cyclone motor in 11 places) but I need to verify the sliding motor mount setup...

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

It looked much heavier duty than the stock Cyclone setup, and it is really nice. Actually I have no idea what the BCD is, I'll have to measure it for you :? I'll try to get some pics up too.

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

YES....I'm using a half link on mine but I only just got the bike running so I only have about 20 miles or so on it. Also I'm using the Luna-tic sprocket set and I eliminated the chain tensioner altogether.

    Qulbix Raptor 76R Cyclone Build

Just a quick update on the Luna headlights. Only tested them out in the shop so far, but both on together they put out 7000 lumens peak on my light meter!.....That's with a 52 volt battery although I don't think the voltage makes a difference.
