New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Just curious. What are you expecting to improve by reprogramming this motor? Getting more punch out of it?

So that could indicate that I have a 250W version just like you. Or that there are several configurations of 350W version out there. Still kinda inconclusive. Is that display any different other than the 8 pin connector?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I would also say that it depends alot on your topography (location). If you live in a hilly country like me, then frequent pedaling is neccessary and I've had no trips yet without feeling like I had a mild workout afterwards. Steep hills still feel like hills only less.. In a flat country you...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Although there is a connection for throttle, I've been adviced not to use one since it will interfear with the torque sensor. This kit is ment for assisting. Also, it's made for bigger bikes and one would hardly get up to 45km/h riding uphil so no need for a motor running past that speed. And...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I haven't tried to mess too much with settings. As they say, if it ain't broken, don't fix it  I can add that selecting 8 or 16Ah doesn't provide a dramatic difference. I'll try to measure the current draw when I get hold of an inline meter. I'll report my findings then. Interesting...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I experienced something similar the other day. Motor assist was kinda pulsing when engaging. I believe I was moving slowly while I turned the system on when this happened. Motor behaved normally next time I turned it on. Didn't need to disconnect the battery.

Here you can see the same labeling as yours.. Actually.. after looking closer.. the letter "A" after 36V is missing.. Go figure. Perhaps there is a difference? Anyone else care to check theirs?

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

@thowaa I have the 350W version and the number in the last configuration menu you were asking about earlier is 3.4. Seems indeed like it's the firmware version and if yours is rated at 250W then there's obviously no major difference in FW. In addition.. I've asked pswpower earlier regarding...

Thanks for the tip Tushar. Prices weren't that bad.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I agree. Just to clarify, I can totally understand that buying things locally is the preferred option for many. Specially if you plan to use the bike a lot (obviously with a whopping 15Ah batt). And everyone pays what they feel is natural anyway :-) I merely stated what little I could get away...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I paid $320 for the motor incl DHL shipping and around $120 for a 36V 8Ah battery with charger incl regular shipping.. It's a plain and compact li-ion pack in a blue shrink wrap but it has proper circuitry / protection and works good. I hate those huge encapsulated major giveaway types anyway...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

That is about twice the price I paid for mine incl battery from China. But it's not bad considering the warranty and piece of mind. Delivery time for me was within a week with DHL. However, I would personally NEVER have purchased this for over 1000€ (conrad.de). I can get a decent e-bike for...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Yes, of course. I forgot to add that. But you know the marketing guys. They often operate at max levels for good numbers on paper. I think that if this motor delivered 1300W Max, or even 1000W that would be a part of its marketing. Just my opinion of course. I have no good means of measuring...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Also, at 36V the battery is depleted so you should calculate at 42V x 16 etc. I highly doubt that this tiny motor could deliver anything near 1344W at the 32A setting though. It would certainly be advertised as more than 250W / 350W in that case  So it's probably just a universal menu.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I am aware of that. Have been doing RC for 25 years. :D But others may benefit from this info. So a good write up. My battery is rated at 4C btw so it should be ok.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I think that several reviews in this very thread describe that quite well. Check them out. But in general, the motor feels powerful but you have to provide force, especially uphill. It will not propel you by itself even in turbo mode. Torque sensing is good. Starts as soon as you pedal and stops...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

So.. My kit came back from repair and it was the brushless motor iself that had to be replaced. I recall that a few days prior to this fault happening I was climbing a steep hill in a few gears past the lowest one. So my conclusion is to use the lowest gear when there is going to be a lot of...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

@nbdriver Your battery is only 5A? Good to know. That excludes the possibility of my 8Ah being too small. I even limited the A setting to 8A just to be on the safe side. Well. I opened the thing up and everything inside the motor casing looked intact. I was expecting some broken gears but...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

@nbdriver: Glad that yours is working fine so far and thanks for the tip regarding the plastic gear. I suspect that it may indeed be the cause but I haven't opened the casing to keep the warranty even though I could most likely fix it my self. I am still awaiting a reply from the seller /...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Well.. definitely did not expect this  OyH2VON-hz4 I haven't even used it for more than 10km. The last 2km were rolling back after a failed trip. Seems like a gear is stripped since the motor still engages but provides no momentum. So this one is going back to seller and I'll give...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I just made a quick recording for you first without and then with assist on. To me it sounds quieter, but it could simply be caused by different mikes (I used my phone). 1JivRuEK9AI

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

That is literally an in depth analysis. :) Interesting to get a glimpse at the internals. Hope that plastic (delrin?) gear holds up.. I am surprised that yours makes so much noise without assisting. In that mode my motor is almost completely silent and there's no "grinding" in either modes...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I totally forgot to mention that I went for the 350W version and the extended menu allows me to select a 45km/h speed limit as opposed to your 35. I'm wondering whether this is the only difference between the 250W and 350W versions or an actually more powerfull motor as well? Also, there's an...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi everyone. This thread (Lars in particular) has helped me a great deal to decide which solution to go for. So after countless hours doing research I went for this motor as well. The last piece of the puzzle (battery) finally arrived today so I had the chance to test it out. Here is my little...
