How To Wire a 12V Brake Light and Turn Signals

Great post Teklektik, I plan on adding motorcycle signal and brake lights to my ebike this winter. The use of the opto-relay to trigger the brakes is really elegant; I was going to use a leaf switch but I’ll use your opto-driver board solution. I have a question regarding grounding of the...

Upload Your Circuit Schematics & Requests Here...

Thanks again AW, I looked through your search results and it helped my understanding of the circuitry needed to use signal lights as running lights and turn signals. Below is a diagram which meets most of my needs. A relay is added as a switch to make the running lights blink when the turn...

    Brake Light Switch Options

What are the options for a brake light switch for regular cable operated bicycle switches? Below is a picture of one example but I do not know where I can purchase just the switch. I would also like the solution to be an easy installation.

    Before & After

Amberwolf, scavenging is good. The second donor bike was given to me by a neighbor. It was sitting in their back yard with flat tires and the gear shifters were not working properly. The bobber rear fender is made from two used 26 inch fenders. One oversized and the other for narrow tires. I...

BMS, Discharge Rate and Controller Question

I will try and answer this myself; please provide feedback. Since I am looking for a 48v 15 AH LiFePo4 battery pack 1c is 15A so I could safely charge the pack at 15A and the BMS will manage this at the cell level. Is this correct?

BMS, Discharge Rate and Controller Question

Thanks dnum, cycborg and Wes. Other than needing a charger for a 48v lifePo4 battery pack what other considerations are needed for the charger? How can I determine the maximum amperage to safely charge the battery pack?

BMS, Discharge Rate and Controller Question

I built an ebike years ago from a Grubee kit with lead acid batteries. I am now returning to the EV scene with a newer bike and a direct drive 1000 watt Golden Motor that I have had sitting around idle. Choices today are overwhelming - which is actually a good thing I am starting to look into...

    Strong rear wheel suggestions needed

JS Tyro, the hub motor is on the front of my bike. The spokes that broke were on the back which has the weight from the 4 LA batteries. I mentioned that all spokes broke on the cassette side because I that this was possibly too much of a coincidence. Is it possible to just use better spokes or...
