TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi, Since I replaced my inner hall sensor (the one inside the motor itself), I noticed the following behaviours : - Motor works perfectly but max power is limited to 420W, EXCEPT when cadence is > 80 where the power brutally jumps up to 700W. - Walk assist doesn't work correctly. The motor is...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I fixed it. See my howto if you ever need to repair you motor inner hall sensor. --> https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=107538&p=1574314#p1575968

TDSZ2 : HOWTO - Motor Hall Sensors replacement (originally Error 3 "Torque Fault" ?)

FIXED ! So, being of out luck finding the replacement hall sensor assembly, I tried to fix it. Actually it wasn't so difficult. It requires some good soldering skills, lot of flux, desoldering braid, a desoldering pump, and a fine tip for your soldering iron. Here is my repair guide ! The...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Thanks @casainho. Turns out one of the inner hall sensors is not working anymore. Finding the assembly as a spare part looks difficult. Anybody having a fried motor with working hall sensors wanting to sell it to me ?

TDSZ2 : HOWTO - Motor Hall Sensors replacement (originally Error 3 "Torque Fault" ?)

Update. Found the hall sensors that are actually mounted just beside the screw power terminals behind a black silicon paste. Here are some pictures. I tried to resolder the joints without success. That PCB is really small and looks glued to the plastic support. Chances are that any...

TDSZ2 : HOWTO - Motor Hall Sensors replacement (originally Error 3 "Torque Fault" ?)

So the hall sensor has indeed a problem. I tested using the method provided on this thread : https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=105444&p=1543436&hilit=led+hall#p1543566 With the sensor connected to the controller I measure voltages either 0 V or +5V between the black...

TDSZ2 : HOWTO - Motor Hall Sensors replacement (originally Error 3 "Torque Fault" ?)

Spot on. The display shows somewhat random numbers between 5 and 7. Sometimes 4 appears too. Let’s dismantle it to understand what’s wrong. Thanks !

TDSZ2 : HOWTO - Motor Hall Sensors replacement (originally Error 3 "Torque Fault" ?)

I measure 2,7 ohms. I guess the sensor is electrically ok. Thanks anyway.

TDSZ2 : HOWTO - Motor Hall Sensors replacement (originally Error 3 "Torque Fault" ?)

Sure, but that’s a somewhat tedious task. Maybe there will be other ideas before I try that ?

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi guys, My TSDZ2 is dead 🙁. I opened a separate thread, maybe you could help me diagnosing why my motor suddenly doesn't work anymore after adding a temperature sensor ? (Display oddly shows : Error 3 : Torque Fault) Would you be kind enough to have a look at it ...

TDSZ2 : HOWTO - Motor Hall Sensors replacement (originally Error 3 "Torque Fault" ?)

UPDATE : I fixed it ! See below my howto (https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=107538&p=1574314#p1575968) to fix the motor inner hall sensor. Hi, I need help to understand what's wrong with my motor who died during a maintenance. 🙁 It's a TSDZ2 running the...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Thanks @casainho ! Did you manage to solve the most obvious issues for that 1.0 release ? * auto power off not working (just found my battery completely depleted this morning) * SW102 lockup issues in configuration mode - calibration impossible * power cut-offs on bumps with default...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Not at all, quite the contrary actually 😊 I understood that you were requesting comments and suggestions, return from user experience. That's what I did. Those are not critics, just my thoughts as a lambda user with a strong attention to UX. But sure, let's leave the (great) features as they...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

No problem with that, even if I'm not aware of the reason why those 20 levels could be necessary. But again from an UX point of view 20 levels as default setting is strange to say the least and asfaik reducing the number of levels is a tedious task that could be automated (levels should be...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Also : • auto power-off doesn’t work (whatever the duration set). • setting a number of assistance levels <=9 is difficult because of a bug in the way long press down button is handled. IMHO From an user experience perspective I don’t really see the added value to have more than 5 or 6...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Tried multiple times. Can’t go past the third menu item. The display hangs as soon as you reach it.

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Yes indeed, sorry forgot to mention it. I opened a case on GitHub : https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/Color_LCD/issues/98 The problem was already present in 0.8.0 but less prominent.

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Indeed my rapid test shows that disabling the fast "cadence fast stop" setting solves my issue. What could cause those cutoffs ?

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Ok since I had 0.8.0 that setting was not available. Also I don't have suspensions at all... I just updated to 1.0.0B1 and currently configure it. I'll report. One thing I notice : there is a bug that makes impossible to calibrate the torque sensor : as soon as you scroll further than "Pedal...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi, Since I installed that firmware (latest stable) there is a very annoying problem : the motors cuts off on bumps and shocks. That's a very short cut but makes it impossible to ride on trails. I rode 150km with the stock firmware, it never happened. Since I only changed the display for a...
