    Things heating up?

Yeah and so much of what's on offer here is tinged with rudeness and condescending responses. It's elitism. I didn't imagine ebike forums would be that way - I thought it was more like people sharing common interests, and less like a Twitter influencer pissing contest thing. As for seeking pats...

    Things heating up?

Is there a forum for noobs with the voilamart special just getting into the hobby? Because this must be the forum for scientists, engineers, and elitists.

    Need input - buying batteries

The batteries will not be paired together to power a motor at the same time. One battery per motor. I have 2x 48v 14AH 30A cheapo 18650 based Chinese constructed import batteries. Could be anything inside but they actually do quite well. I got them just to have some power in the meantime while...

    Things heating up?

I imagine the heat is hell on efficiency. I guess it doesn't matter much when drawing from shore power, just seems like a lot of waste.

    Need input - buying batteries

Range with 48v or 52v batteries. Not high peak discharge, not number of cycles. Not based on kw/kg. Range. I have more than one setup. Much of my arrangement is modular. I want range with 48v or 52v. I never intended to make this a thread about how a turtle can go a thousand miles, and then...

    Need input - buying batteries

Well for reasons sort of already explained. You know, I didn't realize that trolling was a thing here. I thought the other day someone threw some shade at me for nothing but then they kind of explained it as meaning something else. Now I got a guy that wants to bust my balls over me wanting a...

    Need input - buying batteries

So by wanting a 48v battery I'm walking into a minefield of failures? Ok.

Call it a matter of preference. I want 48v. Matter of fact, I prefer 52v. I'm settling on 48v.

    Need input - buying batteries

Right, so running this means undervolting, and it also means using a controller that won't cut off at 42v. Now if I were running 2x 48v hub motors, that might change things. But as it stands, I think there are some other options that might be more suited to my particular application (which I...

    Need input - buying batteries

I saw this one as well and like it a lot BUT it's 44v. Would take some real tinkering and reorganizing to break it all up (bus bars and all) to rearrange it for 48v. edit - or wait it's 1p so I'd need 2 of them?

Thanks for that. Already I see so many options beyond what I was looking at. You guys need a tip jar on here. edit - can I just throw this on the bike trailer? Would that be all right?

    Need input - buying batteries

Ok looking at the other options so far, and not including BMS or other materials for any of these - 1. Ok this looks fab - > $350shipped for 35AH. What is the caveat to this build? What does this need outside of a BMS and a box to go in? What am I missing with this? 2. This comes out to about...

    Need input - buying batteries

I like this. I like it a lot. Thanks. Still looking at everything. A lot to consider. location won't be much of a problem with my trailer. If it's starts to get heavy I'll add 20" hub motor to it. Let's be honest I'm gonna end up doing that anyway. edit-best use for that item would be to...

Considering build - 20" folding bike

LOL yeah pretty much. 2600 also... I know we hate foldables, right... but this is intriguing. 26. aluminum. step through... edit - check this out... trying to imagine it with a with the seat lowered and taller, less aggressively positioned handlebars. More like a cruiser. But can a rear...

    Need input - buying batteries

So I've budgeted $600 for investment in upgrading battery capacity. I'm running 48v 1kw hub motor on MTB that sometimes pulls an aluminum trailer. I currently have 2x 48v 14ah batteries. My main goal here is range. I'm not even that concerned about weight. So, with money in my pocket I went...

Considering build - 20" folding bike

The ideal bike for my purpose would actually be a step through 26" aluminum frame with rear suspension. Doubt it even exists.

Considering build - 20" folding bike

All right I learned something - running 48v battery on 36v motor through that controller. Awesome. Now I just need to learn wheel lacing and the sky is the limit.

Considering build - 20" folding bike

Chalo thank you so much for this. A big help and so much to consider. As for power on the bike one problem I see are a lack of options at 48v 20". Everything is 1000w it seems unless you go mid drive. I think I'm giving up on the CVP option for any ebike... in any case thanks again for your...

Considering build - 20" folding bike

Yep if it gets a hub motor it will definitely be 20" no other way around it. The bus where I'm at is not a city bus, but a regional bus between towns. They're cool with it. You make a good point though in other places some would have an issue. What about a mid drive motor on this?

Considering build - 20" folding bike

An ebike has gotten me far, but an ebike I can take carry on the bus will take me farther. Edited - I originally stated I wanted to drop a wheel in this. But, how about 500w mid drive with CVP rear on a belt drive. Can that work here? My other ebike is 48v so I'd prefer to stay with that...
