In April 2013, Paul (cell_man) responded to a thread that announced on ES that his website was then starting to carry triangle packs made from the 18650 cylindrical cells that are used in laptop computers and cordless power-tools:

The first chemistry where he could get reliable name-brand Samsung cells at a reasonable price was the 22R cell using the ICR-prefix, meaning a Lithium-NCM chemistry (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese). The packs were expensive compared to LiFePO4 packs, but the NCM chemistry allowed you to have many more Ah's of pack in a small and fittable package, and the triangle shape was a real bonus since it allows the buyer the option to move the weight of the pack to a central location on the frame (rear and front-mounted packs have a worse affect on the bikes handling).

The two new cell selections use the INR prefix, meaning they are Lithium-NCA chemistry (Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum).

Pauls triangle packs come in two sizes, 9-cells in parallel -9P, and also 6-cells in parallel -6P. The larger pack (actually pretty small for the amount of Ah in it) has it's size listed below, along with the smaller pack.

205mm tall X 350mm long (8.1 X 13.8 inches)
170mm tall X 275mm long (6.7 X 10.9 inches) a dollar bill plus a quarter = 7-inches, this smaller pack will fit many DH frame triangles.

LARGE PACK, Nominal Capacities:
ICR18650-22P___18.5-Ah___$725_____Best value for 40A peak (limited by BMS), 30A continuous.
INR18650-20R___17.5-Ah___$905____ Runs cool at VERY high amps, can provide 80A peak, but limited by BMS to 40A continuous/peak.
INR18650-29E___25.0-Ah___$1,025___Extra-long range in a small package, 40A continuous/peak capable due to higher Ah volume.

SMALL PACK, Nominal capacities:
ICR18650-22P___12.3-Ah___$510____Best value for 35A peak, 25A continuous.
INR18650-20R___11.7-Ah___$630____Runs cool at VERY high amps, can provide 55A peak, limited by BMS to 40A continuous/peak.
INR18650-29E___16.5-Ah___$710____Good range in a TINY package. 30A peak, 20A continuous

...Whilst the 22P and 29E cells are 3C rated and can deliver 2C or more continuously, it is recommended not to run them at these levels on a routine basis. If your setup and usage means that the pack will be operated at high continuous Current levels, consider the higher Capacity 29E pack, or for effortless High Discharge Capabilities, choose the 20R Pack which can effortless deliver 5C plus discharge rates.

We recommend controllers of up to 40A are used with the 29E equipped packs, with 25Ah capacity, 40A discharge is only 1.6C. For the 22P Pack, these can also be used with a 40A controller, but we do not recommend continuous usage at over 30A to avoid stressing the Battery. With a 20R pack, the BMS is the limiting factor. A 20R equipped pack with 17.5Ah can easily deliver 80A or more. The 20R delivers High Current effortlessly, with little voltage sag and also tends to maintain a higher voltage at the end of the discharge, and with a flatter discharge curve...
