curious if anybody has used any of the high (claimed) power motors from Alien Power Systems. ?
http://alienpowersystem.com/shop/120mm/120100-outrunner-brushless-motor-50kv-25000w-2/
They list several high power ( 10+ Kw) motors and matching ESC's ( yes i recall that thread !)
..and some of those motors are available with very low kV (~ 50) which would seem suitable for a direct drive, mid mount set up.
However i also remember the long thread about the issues finding a controller for the other Big RC motors for a vehicle application, so i was just wondering if anyone has successfully explored the Alien motors on a bike etc. ?

These motors go for $100 on alibaba.

Got a link?

No. There were at least two sellers 6+ months ago. Measurements were a bit shorter, maybe 12090 or something. This was discussed on ES some time ago.

Well .."similar" motors ..are also much cheaper from Alien also.

.. but they do not have the low KV and higher power rating !
Price is not really the issue, you dont see too many high power rated, low KV , RC motors advertised, and we all know you would not expect to get anything close to 25kW out of this in a vehicle situation, so the question is, for a solid 10kW output, direct drive , mid mount Ebike,.. how might this stack up against ..
1) ..cheaper Turnigy RotoMax (10kW,...150KV)
2) .heavier Golden motor (10-15kW,... 85 KV)
3) ..much more expensive Astro ( ? kW,..?? KV)
4) ..any other options.?.......Plettenberg ? $$$$,s

I don't know if anyone has tested one.
