..36 X 2-1/4" wheels..

Hey, that will be great for riding on staircases. Might not even notice rolling over a 5" curb. This gonna be a hubbie? if so you'll need a slow winding motor.

Might even roll over small cars, I was thinking dual external controller Magic Pies with 700c windings should work well

Radial laced spokes on a 36er seems like a bad idea

Finding spokes long enough to pull off a 1-cross lacing of a standard bike hub into a rim with ~775mm ERD will prolly be difficult/expensive/impossible. I almost feel obligated to use the largest diameter hub motors I can get my hands on, i.e., Magic Pie.

Oh yeah no kiddding, I didn't even think about that. I mean you can get custom cut spokes, but even spoke stock might come in shorter lengths to make it hard....

You should ask what length spoke stock comes in to the guys at ebikes.ca. They roll their own threads there and presumably buy a bunch of spoke-stock.

I love it!
I have been wanting for a long time to build an over scale board tracker on thoses 36" wheels.
(i might not look so out of place as I do on all my 20" bikes LOL)
looking foward to seeing this one running.

with 36's it wont be long till those pies are baked!, i think a friction drive would be your best bet with that monster.

Think - unicycle specialists. They've been rebuilding the 36" Coker wheels forever.
Here's some 375 mm 12 ga.ones.

Nice. Where did you get those??

Have to do a curved seat tube huh? Looks like you might have to watch your feet to keep them clear of the front tire too.. I'd love to build a bike for those tires! Lucky.

No, you could easily build extensions for your choice of suspension fork, if you wanted to. ;)

Or custom build one of several types.
