Hello! I Know there are a lot of Eboard threads out there but I thought I may as well post mine to get some help and any insight from others! Ive just started the part gathering process and I have almost everything I need. Heres a part list of everything ive bought to start it off. Also Jerry from Carvon Skates has been SO helpful i mean like we have almost 30 emails sent to each other, best customer service EVER. Also thanks to the community of people on here that have helped a lot with various things! My budget for this build was about $550 and ive gone a bit over but thats not a big deal. Ill be editing this post or posting other pictures and updates when I get the rest of the parts and or start putting it all together.

CATCH UP AND 1 MONTH REVIEW!

So! Its been a little over a month of using the board and the first thing I can say is, its amazing, and its horrible. Whats amazing is the experience and the numerous uses I have for the board. Whats horrific or just kinda bad is my overall design of the board. Its functional but there are a ton of things I would change if I where to do it again. First off, IT NEEDS TO BE WATERPROOF! That was honestly my biggest mistake by far, i corroded a 6S JST extender for charging the board because a little water got in it and ruined it. Second the way I charge this thing is hideous! I have to plug in the balance JST cord then take two alligator clips and attach them to the positive and negative terminal of the batteries wired in series, and it looks like a rats nest. To fix that I ordered a GX16-9 connector and im going to have that on the side of the board so I can just plug it in and click the charge button on my balancer, much easier. Third I HATE THE "Fuse Switch" first of all its not a fuse, its just a switch. It is a piece of crap the pins holding the top cover on have broken off and they have all fallen out. Also the lever to turn it on fell off so I have to use needle nose pliers to turn it on. Im going to just get a normal toggle switch and replace it with that. Fourth the wireless voltage wattage and amperage meter was a big mistake to add. The ground bridge added a lot of complication to the circuit and I practically never use it. It also takes up a good chunk of space in the enclosure where I plan on adding an arduino, possibly, to add RGB LEDs on the bottom. Fifth the Fiberglass enclosure turned out kinda crappy and I would have re done it if I had more time before I left for Mehico (Mexico). I would recommend getting one of the ABS enclosures that I forgot who is selling on endless sphere. The Fiberglass isnt horrendous but it could be a lot better. Number god knows what, I would cut individual holes for each wire to make it more waterproof and look cleaner. Your build looks good to me so far

The multistar battery are on sale so you could save a few bucks b getting these instead

Also, I recommend one of these to monitor the individual cell voltages on the battery. It has a low voltage alarm too.

Thanks for the info! That deal on those battery's, WOW! Though there only 10C so idk if that would be enough amps to keep this thing up and running.

Parts list looks good. Unless your ESC has current limiting feature, be sure to have a battery pack that can push out 80 amps to be safe, especially if you're going to use only 6s.

Yeah my battery's can push at least 80A I know what much. I saw that he was selling those abs ones though I wanted to trie and make my own! I'm having some trouble on how to make a mold for the Fiberglass. I've seen people use styrofoam but idk have any suggestions?
 
Wood is good. Easy to cut and sand. Btw, here's the pic of the Single Hub with lime wheels you asked for:

Aside from adjusting the TH Trim, try re-calibrating the endpoints of the throttle. Also, try it without the reverse option, only forward and brake.
 
Im thinking about buying these LED strips to put on the sides of the board, there only like $6 and seem super bright. They would be great for riding at night time. I also may just put one on the front instead and have some RGB led strips on the bottom controlled by an Arduino Uno. I may buy 2 more battery's for the board so I can swap them out and be able to ride a lot farther on a single charge. These battery's are CRAZY cheap on HK $24.86 for 2 of them! Only problem is there 10C though that still means max 52 Amp output each, multiply that by 2 and thats 104 Amps which I think is fine for my board. Though i thought I would get some opinions because its such a good deal to not jump on!
 
You'll only get the 104 amp rating if you wire in parallel. If you wire in series, you will still be at the 52 amp output.

12s (44.4v) * 52amps = 2308 watts.

Should be more then enough. I haven't noticed much difference and don't tend to pull that many amps. That rating is still continuous and not peak.

If your talking about the multistar they mention they are 20C peak discharge which would give you the 104 amps peak for 10 seconds

12S (44.4v) * 104amps = 4616 watts.

Give or take as amp output is always not as stated. You'd be fine though.
 
The battery is 3s. If you use two of them and wire them in series, they will be 6s but their capacity will be the same.

If you parallel them, then their capacity will double but they would remain only 3s. So to make it 6s and double the capacity, you would need 4 of them.

And yes, you would need more than 52 amps for your Single if going only on 6s. 80 amps would be ideal.
 
Ahh right I didn't think about that thanks. I would be wiring them in series so I would still only be at 52A output so those battery's wouldn't do. Thanks for your help any ways!

I cant charge my 3S lipo above 4 amps without the voltage dropping below 11 volts. though the PSU is rated at 12V at 5A? With my 6S Lipo I cant charge above 2.6A without voltage dropping to low. Anybody have any ideas? I would love to be able to charge at 5-6A so I can just charge then more quickly. how does this esc work for you? i ordered the same and wondered, if its any good. did oyu programm it with the programming card, or by using the usb cable?

So far it's been great! Only problem I have is that I can't for the life of me figure out how to set the end points for the throttle, other then that it's great! Though I would def recomend buying the programming USB cable if you can. Also if your ordering lipos from Hobby King don't get them from a different country or China. I ordered a Lipo from China and it took over a month to get here! Try to order from a USA warehouses (if your in the US) or the warehouse closest to you. Also when you order from HK order a bulk order of EVERYTHING you could possibly need it will save you a fortune and a TON of time. I got my HK order from the USA East warehouse in 2 days great shipping time!
 
Your Charger is the iMax B6, it's max charge power is 50 watts. Watts = Voltage x Amps. So the more voltage you are charging the lesser the amps, and vice-versa. You can only charge up to 5 amps for 10V or lower.

The adapter is just for the iMax charger. You need to find a charger with charge power of 100 watts or more to increase your amps for the volts youre using. Check these chargers:

No I realize that the higher the voltage the lesser the amps I just wanted an opinion on the adapters I mentioned before thanks though! I didn't know that there was a iMax B6 charger that you could just plug into a AC wall outlet :/
 
Just finished painting the fiberglass with resin! Should have cut the corners so it laid around the corners better. Live & learn ill do that next time. Other then that it went pretty well, i think ill check back in the morning to see if it cured properly.
