Hi.

I've just got my new ANT Smart_BMS from https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32997552090.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.63ba6c37UszUON.

It's for my bicycle,s 16S (48V) 20Ah battery whitch had a previous BMS that I was always suspicious about has I think it would feed itself from one raw of cell only. There was no possibility to monitor anything by any means at all.

So I changed it to the one I've sent the link above and could see the pack was very unbalanced. I'm still balacing it as it takes a long time to balance.

I'm able to connect to it by bluetooth with Android http://mysharegadget.com/475840339 and Iphone ("ANT bms " in apple store) and unfortunately, each of them have pros and cons and also some bugs (The Iphone App has unapropriated label , or reversed label for parameters !)

It also has an LCD screen communicating other 3.3V UART (That's my guessing), where I can read voltage pack, voltage cells, Amp, Ah, capacity and other details like Charge and Discharge MosFET ON or OFF, balancing ON or OFF.

My goal was to be able to diagnose my pack by logging all these data and store them to later process them in an Excelsheet or so and get some graph V/time during charging and then discharging and find possible defective cell.

I've connected an USB/UART adapter https://www.waveshare.com/usb-to-rs232-485-ttl.htm instead of the LCD,and used the software from lithiumbatterypcb.com https://www.lithiumbatterypcb.com/smart-bms-software-download/ but I was unsuccessfull to get any data on my PC's screen.

I then put my serial adapter in parallel to the LCD screen to see what was flowing on the UART port but it seems things don't work that way ! :(

I wonder if that BMS can communicate with lithiumbatterypcb.com's software ?

Could somebody give me some direction please.

My understanding is, the ANT models are completely different from the

LLT / JBD "Xiaoxiang Smart BMS" based units

even if they use the same BQ76940 mcu

Search for BotoXbz' posts in the Blutooth BMS thread

His FOSS software would be a great starting point for logging

From my notes, specifically says

those that use the "cute elephant app" have an LCD, and are **not** recommended

Example units: JBD-SP15S001 (LiIon)
RJXZS
JBD-SP05S002 (LiFePo4)
