Well, in the words of Chuck Yeager......
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you can use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing.

Battery-powered glider crashes into Connecticut home

In this Tuesday evening, June 4, 2019, a glider, flown by a local business owner, crashed into a house on Golden Hill Avenue while making its approach to Danbury Airport, in Danbury, Conn. Officials say the pilot sustained minor injuries.

DANBURY, Conn. (AP) — A battery-powered glider crashed into the roof of a Connecticut home, injuring the pilot and scaring a mother and her two children who were watching TV.

Neighbors described hearing a small explosion when the aircraft hit the home in Danbury Tuesday night and became partially embedded in the attic. Mayor Mark Boughton tells The News-Times that neighbors found the pilot walking around looking for his glasses.

The aircraft had taken off from Danbury’s airport earlier in the day and the mayor says the pilot thought he had 20 minutes of power left and was headed for the airport. An airport official says he ran out of power.

Fire Chief TJ Wiedl says the glider mainly uses the power to take off and, if needed, in flight.

Officials say the pilot sustained minor injuries.

Having a battery powered airplane is trusting in your equipment a little more than I want to.

It's a sailplane, I've flown them without any motor for hundreds of flights.
He screwed up his energy management and if he happened to have the motor retracted then it takes too long to extend at the last minute.
