I am in the process of fitting a bbhd to my voodoo bizango 29er.

I have noticed after fitting the chainring (Lekkie Bling Ring), that there is a noticeable amount of lateral wobble.

I have also tried fitting the standard chainring and there is also a little wobble, though not as much.

I also fitted the Lekkie Bling Ring flipped round (to see if perhaps an uneven mating face was to blame), there was a little wobble but significantly less than fitting it normally and less than the standard chainring.

Is a bit of wobble normal? I would expect it of the cheap standard sprocket, but for the £90 Bling Ring surely this isn't right?

I've uploaded several YouTube videos

Well that's disappointing.

It looks to me like both the BBSHD and the ring are a bit out of true. I'd try giving the ring a 1/5 turn and try it again repeating until you have minimal wobble, having each part cancel out each others wobble.

That's a typical amount of runout for most inexpensive bikes. When I do tune-ups, I usually align the chainrings gently with a rubber mallet to make the front derailleur work better with less rub.

Because you don't have a front derailleur, I doubt that amount of runout will have any adverse effect even if you don't correct it.
