Notes seen on the web:

battery into the down tube
rear drive system (RDS) captures braking energy to charge Samsung Lithium Ion 324Wh battery

“We’ve got a patent for the integration of two big parts: the battery and the control unit."

...the Emotion NEO carries a new 350W “brushless” (Panasonic) motor limited to a 250W output to comply with European regulations. The motor is in the rear wheel and brings superior assistance, reaching a 1:3 ratio boost, which means that it multiplies by three the force applied to the pedals. The Emotion NEO motor is noiseless even in the most powerful mode, thanks to the torque sensor integrated into the rear part of the frame, which detects the shifts required.

"New features start right on the control panel, which doubles as a key to start the vehicle, that is, the bike won’t work without it. The motor is much more powerful, allowing for more comfortable assistance and achieving great power peaks at specific times, on steep inclines for instance. Moreover, the torque sensor and the 27-gear rear derailleur ensure optimal power transfer without any special chainrings or cranksets,” claims BH Marketing Manager.
All these features, plus the light weight between 21kg and 24kg, result in one of the most innovative ebikes available on the market, with an autonomy of up to 90km in eco mode.

Apparently their only NA dealer is Pivot in Tempe AZ:

Styling wise, a lot like one of the Ezips or Izips I once saw. The upscale one with the hubmotor and in the frame lithium battery. Looks perfect for Amsterdam, where there is no hills except for slopes on the bridges. Most of the phoenix area is pretty low slope too. 350 watts is pretty inadequate if you have real hills though. It seems like it would be a hard sell in the US, a limited to 20kph bike. Mabye they fix that to sell them in AZ. Sell em with a 20 mph controller.

Pivots other product (pedal bikes) looks pretty high end. Guessing the NEO is spendy... amusing searching "retirement" on a map of Tempe/Phoenix:

(the red dots all identify as retirement homes etc)

I can guess who Pivot has in mind for target market...

There be money in that town. It's getting similar here too but on a small scale. When asked what is your local economy based on, I reply chile and pecan farming, and burying old people and selling the same house over and over and over. That they come, they buy, they die, the heirs sell the house cycle is a real money maker. The town is full of banks, Dr offices, and real estate offices. The best insdustry of all is importing rich people and their money.

350 watts limited to 20 kph might just be a better market niche in that town that I first thought. They should be selling the trike version.

The BH Emotion line of electric bikes can now be purchased at Pete's Electric Bikes, www.petesebikes.com and through BH Emotion Bikes North America. www.bhemotionbikes.com

The BH Emotion line will be introduced at Interbike this month.

When we introduced the NEO range some months ago, we told you that these bikes -designed by BH and ITEM Desarrollo de Producto S.L.- were not just a step forward in the world of ebikes but revolutionary, one-of-a-kind bicycles. Now there are many people who are saying the same as us: all the users who have their NEOs, and the judges at Eurobike 2011 too, who have recognised the design and functionality of our ebikes with the Eurobike Award.

The Eurobike Award is given for particularly innovative design and above-average product quality. From now on, all the NEO range will carry the Eurobike seal that identifies products that take the bike concept further ahead.

This award is very important because it was granted at Eurobike, a show where all the brands enter their best products. The best products in the bicycle industry are showcased here, and the judges have considered the NEO technology as the most innovative and original in the ebike sector.

Did you know that…?

What makes the NEO so special is its innovative design, integrating the battery into the down tube and making it totally removable –a unique, patented innovation. As a result, it is an ebike that does not look as an ebike.

According to BH Marketing and Communication Manager Alex Zuloaga “We’ve got a patent for the integration of two big parts: the battery and the control unit. It’s a simple, comfortable design that helps conceal much of the battery. The E-motion NEO has nothing to do with the other assist-pedal bikes on the market, for it boasts many technical and design advantages and almost looks like an ordinary bike.” In addition, the NEO bikes weigh as little 21 to 24kg and have an autonomy of up to 90km in eco mode.

So Eurobike has joined the NEO revolution too! And BH consolidates itself as the most powerful brand in the pedal-assist bike industry.

Visit BH Emotion Bikes North America, www.bhemotionbikes.com for specifications.

Pete,

It's best to avoid posting marketing spiel on here, as others have learned to their cost. It's also best to avoid using the word innovative......

Yeah, that post belongs in the for sale section.

And I do reviews. Just send me one to demo.

We get to talk about the product all we want in the review section. So get one into anybodies hands, so it can be ridden awhile by an experienced ebiker. Amberwolf lives in Phoenix, no shipping. Give him one to ride for a few months. Glossy pics and ad copy helps sell bikes, but at this forum, only passing the torture test given by one of us impresses anybody.

I do like the battery box. Right place for it, and removable is very cool. Looks like a great bike to use for a city dweller or student, who needs to be able to remove the battery while the bike sits outside the classroom.

The line of Emotion E-bikes are not available through Pivot. They are only available through Pete's Electric Bikes, www.petesebikes.com, or Emotion Bikes North America, www.bhemotionbikes.com.
