"Big block" motor for generator?

Hi members.

I got a big block style(16P) motor in the mail yesterday. I am going to use it for an ebike.

But I saw by only turning it slowly by hand and shorting phase wires it makes sparks that can be seen in daylight

These motors should work great for wind generator with correct gearing etc
