Hi
I have an A frame Bird electric bike. From the manufactures list of error messages I am getting 0xD0, which means battery communication failure, then claims it is a non approved battery. But it is an original battery. This UK version bike worked fine until the LED display got water damaged. It flashes 0d0 and cuts out. With the company going bust I resorted to getting an EU display with matching EU controller, and throttle from an eBay parts seller. I put it together and it works for about 10 seconds before the display cuts out rendering it a manual bike. I get the same 0d0 error message flashing before it cuts out. I believe the battery was fine, and that it was just the damaged display, but with the new display the problems remains. Battery indicates 0% charge but it was charging fine before display damage. I get a blue light when I press the button on the battery which means fully charged. I am at a loss. Could it be the six wires leading to the battery port. Could someone verify which wires go to each pin 1-6? Thanks.

It's likely that there is a communication fault between the parts of the bike, and this is usually caused by wiring or connection faults. If the display was water damaged, other parts of the bike could be as well. I'd verify that all the connections are clean and uncorroded, and fully connected.

If those are all good, then there is a chance that water intrusion into the display could have fed battery voltage into low voltage signal wires (like the comm wires to the rest of the bike), which could have damaged that comm system.

If there is a dealer for the bike you can go to, perhaps they have another bike each part can be connected to to verify it's working or not.

Thanks for the advice. Checking parts is not possible Without buying another bike. I am trying to buy the 6 pin battery port with lead From a USA supplier on eBay but can’t get him to change the postage setting So it can come to UK. Frustrating as I think this would solve the problem.

So they went out of biz and are now selling their stuff on ebay? I'll have to check that out
