Hey you guys ever use any group chat networks like MIRC, or yahoo or such...???

MIRC, is free and easy, for group chat, swap files and such..Someone would have to set it up and be the moderator, but it's pretty cool.

Just a thought for live info sharing..

CBF to have a bunch of random people on my contact lists.

IMO, if we're gonna have a chat, it has to be built into the site (think like a simplified version of Mibbit).

the current system is realtime and indicates who is online. what more is required to chat? we are having a much more reasonable discussion right now than would ever be possible in a chatroom where a bunch of trolls just post to see themselves and make rational discourse impossible. even the power-assist and e-motor-assist groups have become impossible for me to stomach because of the way all topics are strung together and any moron with an insult or idiotic comment inserts it into the single inline discussion

Last time we tried this no one showed up, but click here and everything should load automaticly:
http://widget.mibbit.com/?settings=14de232d08966377a53473b7e69dcfdf&server=MapleLeaf.ON.CA.ChatNet.Org&channel=%23Endless-Sphere&noServerTab=false&autoConnect=true

Else use like MIRC or something and one of these servers on port 6660-6669, #endless-sphere (real original ain't it?): Chicago.IL.US.ChatNet.Org NYC.ChatNet.Org 6660 Sydney.NSW.AU.ChatNet.Org MapleLeaf.ON.CA.ChatNet.Org

well the two of us just exchanged sensational new information in chat that the rest of you missed out on. your loss.

It's interesting how a forum seems more disposed to deeper thinking than a chat room, probably due to the lack of time pressures. It seems attention spans plummet in an chat-like environment.

Khat (pronounced COT) is known by over 40 different street names including, kat, qat, chat, gat, graba, tohai, tschat, and mirraa. Khat is a stimulant derived from Catha Edulis, a 6-12-foot flowering evergreen shrub. The fresh young leaves of the shrub have been consumed where the plant is cultivated, primarily in East Africa and the Arabian peninsula. There, chewing khat predates the use of coffee and is used in a similar social context. It is estimated that over 10 million people use and abuse Khat today, primarily in the Middle East.

Khat is used for its stimulant effects. The effects are similar to but less intense than those of methamphetamine or cocaine. Fresh leaves are chewed and dried leaves are smoked, made into a paste and chewed, or brewed in tea. Used moderately, khat alleviates fatigue and reduces appetite. Long term use or abuse can cause insomnia, anorexia, gastric disorders, depression, liver damage and cardiac complications. Manic behavior, delusional behavior, violence, suicidal depression, hallucinations, paranoia and khat-induced psychosis have also been reported.
