Question:
Is it possible to swap the Bionx pl350/dahon mup8 kit (http://www.nycewheels.com/bionxpl250-electricbike-motorkit.html)that is sold by nycewheels in New york to the following downtube:
http://www.downtube.com/Full_Suspension_Folding_Bike.html

The downtube comes with a cassette and the bionx is only freewheel.

Or, it doesn't matter as long as the rear spacing will accept the bionx rim? Sorry, but i don't have a lot of experience in wrenching just basic repairs.

Thanks.

Hey Bumper,

It is possible, but you will need to purchase the 9 speed freewheel separately though (found this out after I got my Crystalyte motor as well)...
http://www.nycewheels.com/9-speed-freewheel-13-32.html

I purchased my freewheel from ItsElectric.ca though since on the Downtube 9FS the smallest cog is 11 teeth on the original bike, this particular 9 speed freewheel is geared the same as on the original cassette on the 9FS vs the 13 & 32 with NYCE Wheels freewheel...

Width-wize 'ngocthach1130' is right, the dropout spacing is the same at 135mm.

You may want to think about upgrading your crank down the road as well, at 20mph, you'll be pedaling quite fast, having a crank with a higher number of teeth will help provide a more comfortable pace once you reach those speeds.

would it be easier to have a front wheel electric drive?
Easy to swap out the old and insert the electric wheel. That's what am about to do on a 9FS folder.
I don't want to mess with the rear drive it would take too much money and effort.

Anyone have done a front wheel conversion?

BTW, I installed a 140mm disk brakes front and rear. The caliper is a cheap scooter part (scooter parts supply) for only $14 and it works great. However there was problem getting a longer brake cable for the rear and I used a shift cable. Not great but it works.
