E-bike + carbon frame + 52V. 18650 + BMC motor

Hello crew,

First dilema...wheels and tires.
I really like one pair of carbon rims I see, but the price...Jesus...it's too much.
I can buy 2 Sun Ringle mtx 39 in size 24, a shop in my area have it in stock, and 2 maxxis hookworm...I don't know wy, but I prefer 24...

Luis.

Hello crew,

Receive my rims today, 24". Still waiting on the tires.
Next big task, dropouts...
The battery, I decide to go with 14s, 52volts, from em3ev. The shark tipe battery. Its a professional build, with BMS, and charger. And, no need to build a battery box, for me its a relief.

Luis.

Hi guys,

Some new rubber arrive. Nice. Looks good.
I'm trying to build this, and at the end, still looks like a bike, and ride like one.
I'm going to paint the motor, and order some black spokes.
Still deciding on the front suspension. A good one, cost more than a 1.000€...

Luis.

Good morning Luis, nice choice on the Holy Rollers, those are good looking tires. That black and white color scheme is going to look really good. Looking forward to seeing what front suspension you pick. Cheers from smoky N. California. :flame:

Hey Luis,
How're things going with the new build? Haven't heard from you in a bit, hoping you're ok. 8)

Hello crew,

Wolfeman, receive my suspension today. In the next days should arrive my cranks, pedals, seat post, seat, a pair of hydraulic disc brakes, 2 203mm discs...

Dead carcass working as the guy from AvE youtube channel calls it, you guessed right he likes welding better but to each their own. I'd love to have a workshop to build stuff whether wood or metal, ideally would be building classic cars but we all got dreams. Dream BIG!

BTW I wanted to congratulate you on a nice looking ebike. Is the BMC motor from HPC, as they are selling them on their ebay store but I think their higher power ones are black in color, so their V4 BMC's.

Hello crew,

marKz, yes the motor is one off them. With time I realize, for me, 2000watts is the sweet spot... and 2000watts it is.
I adventure in some metal welding as well, but not beautiful. I need some more practice.
I'm still equipping my shop. Today arrive a vacuum cleaner for the machines. Everything is too expensive...

Luis.

Hey Luis, that's a lot of nice shiny beautiful new parts. I'm really looking forward to seeing this go together. I have my Trek 4300 torn apart and getting ready for powdercoating. I'm hoping to do a build with a aluminum battery box with the carbon wrap like yours. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, and Happy New Years. Cheers from N. California

Hello guys,

Wolfeman, thanks for your comment. I do not want to build another battery box... this time I will go with a em3ev battery. Plug and play. And they now how to build battery's.
Shiny parts are still arriving
Take care, and Merry Christmas for you to, from rainy Portugal.

Luis.

Hello crew,

Slow start to assemble the bike parts.
There is some things, demands especial tools... I do not have, like the crown racing for the forks....

That last bike you had was Imo the best looking ebike on endless sphere. Can wait to see the finish product on this one!

Is there a reason you go for hub motors? I thought mid drives are way to go for full suspension bikes? Would be interesting to know!

Mid drives has its advantages and disadvantages just like a geared hub and direct drive hubs do.
Then you can to consider the total weight, terrain, speed, slopes you'll be riding. Is it cruising most of the time, or is it stop and go downtown. Frame design is a factor as some bikes cant have mid drive due to some fancy frame design blocking bottom bracket for md mount. Weight balance, the list goes on.

That's looking good Luis, nice build on the wheel. I am really looking forward to seeing your hub motor come together. I've always wanted to do an IGH, but still haven't. Have a good day.
