I am looking for input on a build that i am gathering supplies and doing research for, I am going to replicate a motorcycle that allows me to get back into Motorcycle riding, but i want to power this motorcycle via EV with a later idea of attaching a small towable petrol engine to generate enough power for sustained highway driving for long distance riding similar to the way the Chevy Volt and BMW i3 work. The motorcycle will be designed around performance and lightweight with at least a 50 mile range.
I have talked this over with a few others and got some ideas, but i found this site and wanted to get additional input...
Current ideas people have recommended:
2 x ME0913's $2,275.00 60KW"ish" 63.2lbs
1 x Zytek 55 $900.00 55KW 137lbs
One of the ideas is i can run the dual ME0913's inboard in the front for air cooling, sprocket/chain drive the motors down the front of the bike's outer body, then run CV axle from each sprocket to a FWD wheel hub.
Here is a picture of the Bike i am replicating w/EV drivetrain, original bike with sport bike motor is 683lbs wet.
