My controller was consistently overheating in a bag and began cutting out intermittently. So I opened it up and found a loose component TL783C. I also spotted a burnt resistor beside it. So I attempted to solder the transistor back on and replace the resistor with the big 5 watt one I had on hand, I think it was pretty close in value to the original but I can't recall exactly, it was a while ago. Upon testing it out I got a loud pop, capacitor blew up (seen in photo second from bottom beside the large cap) and some nasty smoke
I took some pictures so you can see what I'm talking about. If anyone could kindly walk me through repairing this I'd be eternally grateful. I'm not sure how to go about it and I'd love to be able to perform minor repairs on my controllers as I doubt it would be economical to ship it out to somebody to have it done for me.
