So, I am still looking for a balancing system for an 18s lipo pack. I see plenty of threads on the development, but they never actually seem to be for sale. I don't want something that I have to buy another product to use, besides a bulk charger. I just want a simple on board balancer with LVC and HVC capabilities. Anybody seen one on the market yet that I can actually buy?

Alternatively, in the short term an easy to use charging solution would be good. My packs are currently in 6s2p configuration, maybe just three more chargers? I just am so tired of all the connectors for the pack.

Anybody else share my frustrations here? I can't be the only person tired of dealing with pack management, and running over 12s lipo.

The closest solution I have found were some 6s chargers that were up to 80w and charged through the balance taps. 10ah bricks took about four hours, decent enough. Unfortunately after less than a year all 6 took a dump on me, and the precision of the balancing was horrible. Square one.

This all I have found so far. Around $400 to 500 for a system, with no bulk charger. http://liionbms.com/php/lipobms.php

Ouch, some $2500 charge for any order through that place. So the $500 system costs $3000 no matter what. Moving on...

Only seen a couple here run a BMS for LiPo!
I looked for 48V+ BMS's for LiPo and ran across 14,16, 21, 24 cell options.
Sorry I'm not much help ... but I would also like to know the answer to the 72v question!

Resources http://liionbms.com/php/bms_options.php A big list here.

Those balance tap chargers I had were from Chargery. I want to try them again, but with low quality the low price may not be worth it.

So, I called a few companies, and they were helpful. I seemed to ruffle some feathers though, one guy got upset when I asked when a certain BMS would be ready

So nothing easy to source yet, except the manzanita I linked in the last post. That one is too big for on board use with my current needs, but I may pick up three of them for testing.

Wow... 3 of them @ $220 a pop and still not much more than a balancer. The RJ bus ports for daisy chain is nice for sure! But still, $660+ for no HV/LV cut-off? Looks to me that something additional is needed to make "Indicator" become Cut-off (LVI vs. LVC). Likewise the RJ bus connects to what charger to make HVI become HVC other than their cheapest $2500 PFC20 reg bus aware charger?

Wait is that St Patrick - I thought there was a patron saint of eBikers, could't remember which one it was :)
