Quick photos of our families bikes. They both started off as relatively cheap BikesDirect Gravity bikes. Mine is an FSX2.0, hers an FSX 1.0.

Her's has a yescom 1000w48v hub motor. a sunwin 72v controller and an 18s9p 18650 pack. it will produce around 2800-3100w without too much drama. the motor gets too hot to touch, the controller is ice cold.

Mine has a cyclone 3000w mid-drive, a Lyen 12fet controller, a Cycle Analyst v3 and a 19s10p 18650 pack. I limit current through the CA to under 50 to try and prevent breakage but it still is crazy powerful (at around 3600 watts). Motor only gets moderately warm. controller stays cold.

nice! So which one is quicker, and more efficient? Had same hub setup years ago, that controller will stay cool always; motor not so much.
