Is it just me, or do cyclone not seem keen to sell motors?!

I couldn't get a reply from Cyclone-USA's email address and they don't list a phone number so I attempted to buy from Cyclone Taiwan. Two weeks and 26 emails later I finally found a phone number for the USA office and talked to the charming and helpful Jim and an order is under way. But for your amusement and to vent my frustration, here is the email exchange with TW. To read in chronological order, start from the bottom.

They have just announced they are no longer dealing with the public. Maybe this is why!

The motor is 3kg and the SLA batteries are 24AH 24V and weigh 10kg.

I want to buy your kits but this is so hard to find out what works with what. You didn't answer my question about the weight of the 650W kit plus battery. My mother has to bring this on a plane for me - it's important. I would buy from your US dealer but they don't reply to their email and don't seem to sell batteries. And they don't deliver to Canada.

Thanks

Hi again

32kg is a lot. Our SLA kits are only 13kg each. I think this is too much. How much would it weigh for the 650w kits with matching batteries?

I think it's ok, so long as it won't overload the controller or the battery. We do have steep hills here. But I have to send it to my mother's hotel and she won't be there till 3 March.

How much does the whole thing weigh including the battery? She will have to bring both kits on a plane.

I thought we were talking about the 650W motor. Is that because it's running at 48v? Shouldn't that just double it?

Sorry, I'm trying to understand.

What power is the motor and in your first email you said there was a choice of a 16AH battery. Is this the best battery you can do for this motor?

So does the battery come built or does it need building? The picture on your site looks like it comes in parts.

If it comes built, I'd like to order 2 motors, 2 of the highest performing batteries you have for these kits and the appropriate charger. Can you send me a link for that please.

Thanks for all your help with this.

the BMS is 70A max, 40A continue

our battery 8Ah 48V can do 80A continue

don't have instructions to built the battery pack, because it require a lot of detail and experience.

Ok, if I get these other batteries I think their BMS will cut out at 10A. We need to climb steep hills a lot, presumably that means drawing higher current.

Does your BMS allow the motor to draw such a high current?
Can you do a higher AH battery?
Do I really have to build the battery myself and are there instructions?

Thank you for answering all my questions.

Rowan,

66A is max current, when the bike running at 40km/h the current will be only16~ 20A, that why the range is 32~40km

2 of the 650W motor 3 chainwheel kits without battery and without charger send to Canada is 888USD I give you 8% discount ( online is 960USD)

you can pay to our paypal sales@cyclone-tw.com or I can send you paypal link.

Are you sure the motor draws 66A? The maximum rating I can find for a battery is 10A. And your battery range would be less than 15 minutes with full throttle.

I think I will buy 2 motors from you and get my batteries in the USA. What will that cost and how do I order?

Thanks

How long does it take to deliver to Toronto, Canada? 7 days

Does the 650W motor go CW or CCW? only CW now is in stock
Are there installation instructions for this motor? yes, please see http://www.cyclone-tw.com/3chkit.htm
How many amps does it draw? 66A
I think a 16AH battery would not be sufficient for this motor and our terrain. 16Ah is good for 32~40km range.
Price including delivery to Canada best price 10% discount only 998USD ( is 1112.52USD online)

Rowan,

We don't sell kit with SLA battery, we only have LiFePo4, and the best battery is LiFePo4.

let me know what you like, you can choose 8AH 24V or 16AH 24V LiFePo4 and I will give you the quote

Hi

We would like to buy two of your bike kits for use in the cloud forest of Costa Rica, so we need it to copy with steep climbs. I was thinking the 650w motor. What batteries are best to go with that? What voltage is it? I notice your complete kit uses SLA batteries but your site in the USA doesn't recommend using SLA batteries. LiFePo sounds like the best bet but do I have to build it myself from the cells? It would need to arrive in Canada by the beginning of March for my mother to bring it to Costa Rica on a flight. What is your delivery time to Canada?

Thanks
